A few weeks ago, we informed you via the article about the arrival of new watches from the Amazfit lineup – Amazfit Ares.
Right now, we know that the new watches are real and the manufacturer has scheduled their presentation for 19. May, meaning tomorrow already. However, we’ll learn more details even before the presentation.
For the most demanding
At first glance at the new Amazfit model, it’s clear that this isn’t an elegant watch for a suit, but a rugged, premium-made smartwatch that will offer everything athletes need.
The front of the watch will feature a 1,28″ display with a protective Croning Gorilla Glass cover. Not only thanks to these specs, but also due to the robust and solid construction, we know the watch will handle even the most extreme conditions.
Based on the published posters, we assume that the new Amazfit Ares will be controlled with 3 side buttons.
70 monitoring options
A great piece of news regarding the watch’s equipment is the ability to monitor up to 70 of the most diverse activities. Besides a huge selection of sports activities, the manufacturer has also built in another useful feature called Firstbeat.
Firstbeat provides accurate and clear statistics on stress, recovery, and workouts. This way, users will be able to perfectly check which areas they need to work on to make training as effective as possible.
Since swimming will most likely be among the activities, water resistance up to 5ATM will be a good fit, meaning you can submerge the watch up to 50 meters without damaging it.
A novelty that the manufacturer has only recently released is the implementation of VO2 Max measurement. VO2 Max determines the maximum amount of oxygen consumed in milliliters per kilogram of body weight per minute.
In most cases, this in practice means: the higher the VO2 Max value, the more capable the athlete will be of delivering better and greater performance.
A big battery won’t let you down
The battery used in the watch has a capacity of 200 mAh, which should be able to provide up to 13-day battery life under normal usage conditions.
Using the watch in standby mode can extend battery life up to 90 days on a single charge, while with continuous GPS use, the Amazfit Ares battery life will be approximately 23 hours.
The connection to your phone will be via Bluetooth version 4.2, and location tracking is handled by GPS + GLONASS navigation systems.
Amazfit Ares will be compatible with devices running Android 5.0 and higher or iOS 10.0 and higher. In terms of connectivity, the new smart watches also didn’t disappoint.
We’ll find out everything tomorrow
As we already mentioned, the manufacturer has scheduled the launch of the new Amazfit Ares watches for the Chinese market for 19. May 2020. On that day, we’ll learn the complete specs and a price that will initially be available only for the Chinese market.
We currently have no information about a global launch, but we believe that tomorrow, thanks to the manufacturer’s words, we’ll be wiser.
We’ll follow the presentation in detail and bring you official information among the first. So make sure to regularly check our website and don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletter.
