The latest leak about the upcoming Xiaomi 17T series revealed its performance in the Geekbench AI benchmark, and the design has also been disclosed. It looks like the series is again targeting a very popular mid-range segment, but with specs that are increasingly getting closer to flagship devices.

The model marked as 2602DPT53G was spotted earlier in various certifications, and now it is definitively confirmed that it is the global version of the Xiaomi 17T. That means its launch on international markets is probably very close already.
Performance will be handled by a new MediaTek chipset
The most interesting piece of info from the benchmark is the processor used. Xiaomi 17T should be powered by the chipset MediaTek Dimensity 8500, which belongs to the upper mid-range segment. We’ve already seen this chip, for example, in the POCO X8 Pro, where it delivered a very solid balance of performance and efficiency. Given the chipset, the device should also offer modern connectivity such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC.
According to the results from Geekbench AI, the phone reached 1 017 points in the single precision test, 1 329 points in half precision, and 1 124 points in the quantized test. In practice, that means you can look forward to a smooth system, fluid app switching, and solid performance for AI features, which are increasingly important these days.
Android 16 and enough memory right from the start
The benchmark also confirmed that the Xiaomi 17T will run on the latest operating system, Android 16. That’s great news, because the device will come with up-to-date security features and new functions straight out of the box.

In the tested variant, a configuration with 12 GB RAM appeared, which is already a very solid standard even for demanding users. Without a hitch, it will handle multitasking, gaming, and working with more demanding apps.
A big battery and fast charging as the main selling points of Xiaomi 17T
Even though the benchmark didn’t reveal everything, from the available leaks we know that the Xiaomi 17T could come with a battery capacity of up to 6 500 mAh. That’s a noticeable jump compared to the previous generation—specifically the Xiaomi 15T, which offers 5 500 mAh.
That capacity should easily ensure up to two days of everyday use. Of course, there should also be fast 67 W charging, which Xiaomi has been using in its mid-range devices for a long time.
Leica cameras in the Xiaomi 17T series with no major changes
From a photography perspective, you can expect the continuation of the partnership with the legendary brand Leica. From Xiaomi, you can again expect the well-known color philosophy and the typical look of photos inspired by the results from Leica cameras.

On the other hand, the leaks suggest that there won’t be any major camera hardware upgrades compared to its predecessor. That may disappoint some people, but Xiaomi is likely betting more on optimization and software tweaks.
The design of the new series, judging by leaked photos, probably won’t change much. Xiaomi sticks to a proven approach—if something works, there’s no need for radical changes. So we can expect a similar look to the previous generation, with minor tweaks, for example in the layout of the cameras.

The official unveiling hasn’t been confirmed yet, but all the leaks suggest we’ll see this series revealed very soon. Xiaomi traditionally launches models from the T series in the second half of the year, but this time we might get it even earlier.
