Xiaomi unveiled a wireless charger with up to 19 coils inside. It charges multiple devices and works across the entire surface

Xiaomi introduced several highly anticipated new products yesterday. It officially announced the Mi 11 Ultra and the Mi 11 Pro smartphones, as well as the Mi 11 Lite, which will compete in the strong mid-range class. We also got a new smart bracelet, a successor to the Mi Band line. In addition to these devices, another one was unveiled — Xiaomi Multi-coil Wireless Fast Charging Board.

An advanced wireless charger from Xiaomi

But it’s not just any wireless charger. It can charge up to three devices at the same time. To be able to charge up to 3 devices simultaneously, the manufacturer had to build as many as 19 coils into the inside. Another advantage of this solution is that you don’t have to worry at all about exactly where you place your device.

Charging across the entire surface of the charger is great news. For example, Apple solves this issue with a magnetic MagSafe charger that automatically attaches to the back of your smartphone via a magnet—exactly at the spot needed for charging.

This is how Xiaomi solved one of the biggest drawbacks of wireless chargers. You can charge two smartphones at the same time, or one smartphone and 2 other wearable devices, such as headphones or smartwatches.

Power: 60 W and the ability to charge 3 devices at the same time

The charger offers a total maximum output of 60 W, evenly split between the 3 devices. That means you can charge at up to 20 W—an excellent value.

You’ll also appreciate the improved level of protection. In addition to standard protection against overheating and other unwanted effects caused by electric current, there’s also detection of foreign objects and load limiting based on the device.

The price looks higher at first glance, but appearances can be deceiving

The price of this new charger is 599 yuan, which is about €78 after conversion, and you can buy it right now only in China. Soon, it should also appear in the catalog of our retail partners, such as AliExpress or Banggood, so you’ll be able to order it too.

Let’s get back to the price, which may seem a bit high at first glance. However, branded wireless chargers that can charge two or more devices at the same time usually cost significantly more. They also don’t offer the total output of 60 W, and definitely don’t give you the option to place your device anywhere with confidence that it will charge.
