Chinese Xiaomi’s sub-brand Xiaomi, company Redmi, has confirmed the official launch date for its upcoming device marked Redmi K50 Extreme Edition. It will offer premium technical specifications, including a 108 MPx rear camera.
Redmi K50 Extreme Edition: We know the date of the official announcement
Redmi isn’t sitting still either and is also preparing its new flagship smartphone, Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, which will soon hit the Chinese market. This time, the official confirmation appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo. The post says the official launch is tomorrow, i.e. August 11, 2022. After the announcement, this device will most likely be promoted under the name Redmi K50 Ultra.
The manufacturer has also confirmed some key technical specifications. This primarily includes the flagship processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, built using a 4 nm manufacturing process, this time from TSMC. It should be paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage.

As for the display unit, we should get as much as 1.5K resolution (2712 x 1220 pixels), AMOLED technology, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a resulting sharpness of up to 446 ppi. The screen should offer a 6.7″ diagonal, a punch-hole front camera, and also an in-display fingerprint sensor under the surface of this panel.
In the photos, you can also see the design of this device: it will feature rounded edges and a protruding module for the rear cameras. Even though some leaks mentioned a camera with up to 200 MPx, we now know that won’t be the case. The K50 Ultra will come with a proven 108 MPx sensor—specifically the Samsung ISOCELL HM6.
The main camera should also be supplemented with an 8 MPx ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2 MPx macro camera. The front "selfie" camera should offer a resolution of 20 MPx. The Android 12 operating system should be supplemented with the well-known MIUI 13 graphics overlay from Xiaomi. The battery should have a capacity of 5000 mAh, and you won’t be missing out on ultra-fast 120 W wired charging.
