Xiaomi officially introduced the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G — a mid-range model focused on battery life and durability.
It has a silicon-carbon battery 8,340 mAh with 67W charging, and according to the manufacturer it lasts over two days.
Durability is rated at IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, plus a certified drop from three meters.
Up front you get a 6.83″ AMOLED with 1.5K resolution, 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits.
The catch is in the video — the phone records up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.
Xiaomi fully unboxed the Note 17 lineup. First we wrote about the Pro Max model with a 10,000 mAh battery, and now, according to Xiaomi’s official global site, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is also available — a step lower in the lineup, but building on the same thing: a huge battery and durability you don’t usually see at this price.
You can find the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G from a trusted seller DHgate, which ships it directly to Slovakia with tax included in the price, so there are no extra fees waiting for you upon delivery. The benefits include express shipping from a European warehouse and also a full 2-year warranty from the seller. If you have any warranty claim, we’ll help you with that when you order via our link through our contact on DHgate.
This is the official global version of the smartphone, with Slovak and Czech languages, full support for 4G and 5G networks, Google apps, Google Pay — basically the same version that will be sold here in our local markets in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Platba cez DHgate: The platform has finally launched safe and reliable Google Pay payments! So now you don’t need to use Revolut / Wise cards for payment, and you can pay directly in EUR. We’d also like to remind you that orders from DHgate come with our VIP support, which you get after downloading our extension for the Chrome browser on desktop only (when shopping on a smartphone, you can use the DHgate app).

First customer experience: at home in 4 days
The first hands-on experience with the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G from the EU warehouse on DHgate was shared by reader Patrik in a post in our Facebook group. He ordered the phone with our coupons. In the text, we only added diacritics and punctuation:
4. 10. ordered via DHgate at night, and with Deal/China Planet coupon codes — today 8. 10. arrived. First impression is great, but you can tell it’s heavier when I compare it to my old POCO X6 Pro. But that’s probably the trade-off for the bigger battery.
Patrik is right about the weight: the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G weighs 223 g, while the POCO X6 Pro weighs 186 g. Those extra 37 g go to the battery, which has 8,340 mAh instead of 5,000 mAh. The photo also shows what’s in the box: a 67W charger with a European plug, a cable, and a black silicone case — so nothing extra to buy.
Battery 8 340 mAh and charging in under an hour
The main draw is the silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 8,340 mAh. For a phone that’s 8.6 mm thick and weighs 223 grams, it’s a remarkable number — typical mid-range models today are around 5,000 mAh. Xiaomi promises over two days of normal everyday use on a single charge.
It charges at 67W HyperCharge, and according to Xiaomi, the adapter is included in the box — which definitely isn’t a given these days. The phone also supports 22.5W reverse charging via cable, so you can charge your earbuds or a smartwatch from it. The manufacturer also states it will preserve the condition of the cell for up to six years.

IP69K and a drop from three meters
Durability is the second thing that makes this model stand out. It’s branded REDMI Titan Quality, with protection rated across four levels — IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. In practice, that means not only being able to be submerged in two meters of fresh water for 72 hours, but also resistance to hot water jetting at 80 °C — a certification you’ll usually find with industrial equipment rather than phones.
That comes with a certified drop from three meters and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass. Xiaomi also adds an extended out-of-warranty service that covers battery repair, display damage, and liquid leakage. However, for IP ratings, it always applies that these are lab conditions—resistance gradually worsens with wear, and for pools or the sea, the phone is officially not recommended.
Display with 6,83 inches and brightness of 3 500 nits
In front you get a 6.83″ AMOLED panel with 1.5K (2772 × 1280) resolution, with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz and touch sampling at 240 Hz—boosting to as high as 3 200 Hz in gaming mode. Peak brightness is 3 500 nits, with typical brightness at 1 060 nits, 12-bit color depth, and an 8 000 000:1 contrast ratio.
For your eyes, the panel is better prepared than most competitors in this class: it has DC dimming and PWM at 3 840 Hz, minimum brightness down to one nit, and three TÜV Rheinland certifications. There’s also Wet Touch 2.0, so the display responds even with wet fingers—which makes sense for a phone with this level of water resistance.

Performance, memory, and the system
Performance is handled by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 built on a 4nm process, with an octa-core CPU up to 2.4 GHz and Adreno graphics. It’s not a performance monster, and that’s exactly where you can see this is a mid-range phone. Memory configurations run from 6 + 128 GB up to 8 + 512 GB, or 12 + 256 GB, with RAM expandable up to 24 GB via expansion.
The system is HyperOS 3, and Xiaomi promises 60 months—five years of software support. Preinstalled you’ll find Google Gemini and Circle to Search, plus a full suite of AI photo editing tools: AI Erase Pro, AI Glare Removal, AI Image Expansion, and AI Sky. A standout feature is Xiaomi Offline Communication, enabling voice calls between phones without signal over distances up to 1.5 km in open terrain.
Cameras and what’s missing here
On the back you’ll find a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization, f/1.8 aperture, and a five-element lens, complemented by a 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Up front there’s a 16 MP selfie camera. The software offers HDR, portrait mode, Ultra HD, panorama, and a pro mode—while the underwater mode is added via an OTA update.
And here’s the only genuinely annoying downside: the phone records video up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. No 4K, and not even 1080p at 60 fps. At the price that’s being discussed, that limitation is noticeable. This same category includes Wi‑Fi limited to the 802.11ac standard (i.e., Wi‑Fi 5) and Bluetooth 5.1—Xiaomi clearly cut costs here so it could spend more on the battery and durability.
Colors, price, and availability
The phone will come in four colors: Black, Purple, Satin Orange, and Sky Blue. The box is expected to include a 67W adapter, a USB‑C cable, a SIM ejector pin, a protective case, and documentation. You’ll also get an IR blaster, NFC, an in-display fingerprint reader, and dual SIM with eSIM support.
Xiaomi has not officially announced the European price yet. Leaks suggest around €500 for the base version, but that hasn’t been confirmed—and with Redmi Note line models, starting prices tend to shift quite a lot during the first few weeks. As soon as the first real offer appears, we’ll let you know.
