The biggest iPhone 14 Pro update yet, the Dynamic Island feature, is already working on Xiaomi smartphones

The US brand Apple unveiled, with its latest generation of devices iPhone 14 Pro, a new feature Dynamic Island as well. It already works on Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO smartphones too, thanks to one of the creative developers. After all, this feature is part of one of the themes designed for the MIUI 13 graphical overlay.

You can try Dynamic Island on Xiaomi smartphones already now

The new theme, bringing the revamped Dynamic Island to the Xiaomi ecosystem, is the work of one of the developers, and this kind of quick transfer of a popular feature is something we can see for practically the first time. Even though this expansion has not yet been officially approved by Xiaomi itself.

For iPhone 14 Pro, Dynamic Island essentially masks the presence of a tablet-shaped cutout. Moreover, it’s an active element that provides various information about calls, active timers, devices connected via Bluetooth, and more.

Grumpy UI offers media controls or hides the front camera

Developer Mi Theme successfully implemented some Dynamic Island features also for the Android operating system. Below, you can also check out a short video revealing the aforementioned alternative theme. This theme is called Grumpy UI and is currently available only in the Chinese version.

This theme includes, for example, an integrated media player within MIUI and, when these elements are shown, it can cover or hide the cutout for the front camera in the corner of the display.

And although Xiaomi is still staying silent about this feature, if the theme Grumpy UI gets approved, it will appear directly in the shop MIUI Themes. Even though the tablet-shaped cutout like the one on iPhone 14 Pro isn’t used much in the Android world, this theme could still be helpful for different design solutions. We at the editorial office are curious whether such a solution will also take root on Xiaomi devices.
