Only a few days have passed since the official Chinese launch of the Xiaomi Mi 9, but the first reviews of this device are already online. The flagship of Chinese Xiaomi has now been put under the “scalpel”. The first teardown photos reveal what’s under the hood.
A triple camera setup and a wireless charging coil
Xiaomi Mi 9 is completely assembled from glass panels. The back, besides an interesting iridescent effect, also features durable Gorilla Glass 5, which protects against scratches. After a short heating of the back cover, the adhesive gave way and we got an interesting look at the wireless charging coil.
If Mi 9 caught your eye, you probably know that it got the world’s fastest wireless charging with a power output of 20 W. Right next to it is a NFC antenna.
After removing the back cover, the 3300 mAh battery sticks out together with the main circuit board. All components of the Xiaomi Mi 9 are placed inside an aluminum chassis. It’s made from 7000-series aluminum.
This is the main circuit board. It integrates the latest Snapdragon 855 processor, RAM memory up to 8 GB, and 128 GB of internal storage. Everything is covered with thermal paste.
Mi 9 boasts one of the best cameras on the market. It’s a triple camera made up of a 48 MP main sensor, a 16 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12 MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom.
On the bottom, there’s also a secondary board that houses the speaker, a USB Type-C port, a microphone, and several other components.
