Amazfit GTS 2
Now we’re getting to the anticipated Amazfit GTS 2 model. As you probably already know, the main differences are the square display and, for some, a more elegant build. Amazfit GTS 2 come in three color options — Desert Gold, Urban Grey, and Midnight Black.
The body is made the same way as on the sports GTR 2 model, from durable matte aluminum. On the front, you’ll find an AMOLED display with a size of 1.65″, a resolution of 348 x 442 pixels, and a pixel density of 341 pixels per inch. The display panel is undoubtedly a major highlight of these watches.
Here too, the manufacturer has really gone all out and brings several interesting and elegant watch faces. Of course, the watch faces are fully modular, so you can customize them according to your preferences.
When it comes to health, it’s almost like Amazfit GTS 2 and the GTR 2 model swapped places. BioTracker 2 carefully monitors the user’s overall health status and, based on precise algorithms, clearly displays the information in the app.
Blood oxygen measurement, sleep monitoring, tracking sports activities, calculating PAI value, and heart rate monitoring are also included. The acquired metrics are saved in the ZEPP app.
As for the availability of the Alexa voice assistant, that’s stayed the same as well. Water resistance up to 5 ATM is identical, and the manufacturer hasn’t forgotten 3 GB of internal storage for music or your favorite podcasts.
You can find differences in the battery and its capacity. GTS 2 models come with a battery rated at 246 mAh. With normal use, it provides 7 days of battery life, with light use 20 days, in GPS mode 25 hours, and with continuous Bluetooth calling 5 hours.
In the admired devices, you’ll find an improved linear vibration motor, a powerful speaker, and quality microphones for making calls. Bluetooth 5.0 along with 2,4 GHz Wi‑Fi is, of course, also included.

Amazfit GTR 2
First, let’s take a look at a piece of the Amazfit GTR 2. The fact that we’ll see improvements on pretty much every front is obvious to most of us. The GTR 2 model brings better workmanship, more premium materials, more features, and plenty of other useful news.
Amazfit GTR 2 comes in two versions — the classic and the sport variant. With the classic version, you’ll get durable and elegant stainless steel, while the sport variant offers an aluminum alloy build.
The front of the watch is made with a round display that looks much more like classic analog watches than the one on the Amazfit GTS 2. The size of the quality AMOLED panel is 1.39″, the resolution is 454 x 454 pixels, and the pixel density per inch is 326. The 9H front glass, thanks to its hardness, is similar to sapphire.
The manufacturer has also put effort into this year’s built-in watch faces—there are actually quite a lot. The displayed information can be customized in detail to match your needs, so you can fully make use of the watch face. The AOD (Always On Display) feature is also a nice bonus.
When it comes to the sensors, Amazfit GTR 2 has plenty of them. The BioTracker 2 system, developed by the parent brand Huami itself, also supports the useful blood oxygen level measurement feature. There’s also a gyroscope, a pressure and speed meter, and an ambient light sensor.
In the watch, you’ll find a total of 12 built-in sports modes, including running, cycling, skiing, and swimming. The watches also come with water resistance up to 5 ATM, so getting submerged for up to 50 meters definitely won’t be a problem.
The watches can also track your heart rate for up to 24 hours per day and assess stress levels, as well as count steps and calories burned. There’s also support for sleep quality tracking, plus measuring and evaluating your PAI value (Personal Activity Intelligence).
The watches send all the evaluated data to the ZEPP app, the original Amazfit app. In the app, you can view your measured values clearly and see how you’ve progressed within your healthy lifestyle.
For most of us, the battery in wearable devices is one of the most important parameters. The Amazfit GTR 2 comes with a 471 mAh battery, which offers up to 14 days of normal usage, 38 days with power-saving use, 48 hours in GPS mode, and 10 hours of continuous calling via Bluetooth.
One of the biggest innovations in both the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 models is undoubtedly the integration of the smart assistant Amazon Alexa. In Chinese versions, XiaoAI had been available for quite a while, but it was unusable in our region.
With the assistant, you can control the watch using just your voice—no need to touch the watch at all. Another big advantage is offline use, so for basic commands you don’t even need an internet connection.
In the watch, you get 3 GB of free internal storage, ready to hold hundreds of songs and podcasts. You can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi.
