Two days remain until the presentation of Xiaomi’s latest premium products. On Tuesday, a major press conference will be held in China, where the five-camera smartphone Xiaomi CC9 Pro, smartwatches Mi Watch with MIUI for Watch, a new series of smart TVs Mi TV 5, and a portable air conditioner will be introduced.
Xiaomi CC9 Pro won’t be just about cameras
We already know quite a lot about the upcoming smartphone. The company Xiaomi, where – here posts a new promotional poster that tells us what we can look forward to. This time, there’s also a fingerprint sensor, which in this case is integrated under the display.
CC9 Pro comes with the world’s first optical fingerprint sensor with an ultra-thin display area. The sensor sensitivity and the unlocking success rate have been improved.
The smartphone can be unlocked with a single quick touch—even under tougher conditions like strong light, low temperature, and similar.
We’ve already written about the new smartphone also featuring an NFC module. In our region, though, we’re a bit behind when it comes to using it. Mostly, it’s used for contactless payments, but even for that, it’s still not as widely popular.
In Xiaomi’s home country, NFC offers far more options. It enables contactless payments, replaces transit tickets on public transport, opens doors to different institutions, and has many other benefits.
That’s why it’s not strange that Xiaomi is highlighting this part of the spec, and in recent times they’ve been trying to integrate the NFC module even into cheaper smartphones.
Two dual LED flash units
Dual dual LED flash was already spotted during the first reveal of part of the CC9 Pro model, but the manufacturer hasn’t commented on its use yet. Four LED diodes obviously provide more light than two. Xiaomi argues that two dual flash units create a softer type of light, and the resulting effect will be better.
When shooting in the dark, one flash tends to overexpose the scene, which can—for example—distort skin tones. With the CC9 Pro, thanks to the use of two dual LED flash units, photos should look more natural.
Infrared port is also one of the popular hardware features, giving users additional ways to use their smartphone. That’s why with Xiaomi CC9 Pro, you’ll be able to use it as a universal remote control for various appliances.
At home, at work or even in a café, with CC9 Pro and its built-in IR blaster you can switch the TV or lower the air conditioner temperature.
Even though none of these features are among the primary criteria, it’s always a nice bonus when they’re included in a smartphone. First impressions when getting to know a new device are always influenced by the design. Here too, the developers tried to bring a few interesting elements.
One of them is the curved display on the sides, but also an interesting modern shade of green used in one of the CC9 Pro color variants. They call it Magic Green, and it combines several green tones depending on the incoming light.
NSometimes they are shades evoking calm, other times they are a combination of vivid colors full of vitality. According to the manufacturer, they literally bring the magical colors of the forest, which also inspired the naming of this color version.
