Chinese Xiaomi’s sub-brand, POCO, is preparing its new affordable smartphone called POCO C40. And we already know the date of the official launch, as well as some selected technical specifications of this device.

POCO C40: Budget smartphone with a 6000 mAh battery

During this year, we’ve already seen the official announcement of POCO devices like POCO F4 GT, POCO X4 Pro 5G, and also POCO M4 5G. Even though these three devices offer a very good price-to-performance ratio, they still aren’t fully accessible to those looking for an affordable and basic model on the market.

Half of the year 2022 is almost behind us, and we finally know the date of the official announcement of the long-awaited POCO device. Specifically, it’s the base model POCO C40. The brand has already announced it on its official POCO Global Twitter account. The online press conference will take place in just a few days, 16, June 2022.

The announcement reveals an exclusive design of the upcoming POCO C40 device. Even this time, a unique yellow shade won’t be missing either—something the brand has already shown with some of its predecessors.

Yellow color option and a large, up to 6.71″ display

But if we look at this smartphone a bit more closely, it resembles the previously announced Redmi 10C model. It was launched on the market earlier this year. It also looks similar to the Indian version of Redmi 10, and we hope POCO will improve the specs—not just release a yellow version of the well-known device.

From leaked information, as well as official teasers, we also know the key technical specifications of this POCO smartphone. The company says the C40 model will include a large, up to 6000 mAh battery. This is the biggest battery ever integrated in POCO smartphones, and it will be paired with a 6.71″ display—which is currently the largest diagonal on POCO models.

The display should include a teardrop notch for placing the front camera. And there won’t be a lack of either a capacitive fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. Since we’re about two weeks away from the launch, it’s possible the manufacturer has even more interesting information in store for us—over the next few days.
