A sonic toothbrush, the Oclean X Pro 20 S, entered the market with the goal of delivering cleaning power and smart features on par with premium brands at a much more affordable price. It’s a very solid alternative to the most expensive brushes on the market—one that mainly wins you over with raw cleaning power, extremely quiet operation, and plenty of accessories, even though you’ll need to accept a few minor software and battery trade-offs. This is a review of the Oclean X Pro 20 S.

Design and ergonomics
The moment you pick up the Oclean X Pro 20 S, you’ll realize it doesn’t feel like an ordinary hygiene tool—it’s almost like a modern lifestyle accessory. The build is slim, the material looks premium, and the plastic fit is flawless. A big plus is the surprisingly low weight, which you’ll appreciate especially when traveling.
You can choose from elegant black, classic white, and fresh mint green—the color we received for testing. A slight ergonomic downside is the brush head surface—although it’s lightly textured, it can feel a bit slippery in wet hands. In terms of durability, it doesn’t miss out on full water resistance with the IPX7 certification, so after brushing you can simply rinse it under running water.
The front is dominated by a large color display that shows the selected modes, timer, Wi-Fi status, and statistics. You can even customize the screen with your own images or a morning weather forecast. One huge and very welcome change compared to older generations is that everything is controlled via a single central physical button. This hardware element is very reliable in the wet bathroom environment.
Uncompromising cleaning power and exemplary quiet operation
Where the Oclean X Pro 20 S absolutely shines is in the cleaning process itself. The powerful Maglev motor can deliver up to 84,000 movements per minute. After you finish cleaning—especially in the most intensive mode, Deep Cleaning—you’ll feel that your teeth are extremely smooth, and based on our experience, even the inter-dental spaces will be cleaned really well. This also holds true when you have very tight spaces, like in the case of our tester.
You can choose directly on the brush from four programs: 1.5-minute Quick Cleaning (great for quick morning cleanups—we used it the most), Sensitive Gum Care for sensitive teeth, Whitening Polishing (although the whitening effect isn’t really that noticeable in practice—it’s a solid compromise) and the mentioned deep Deep Cleaning. There’s also a Custom mode that you can fine-tune in detail via the app.
The brush also features an intelligent ramp-up—after you press the button, it first hums gently, giving you a few seconds to comfortably switch programs or start the toothpaste routine, and only then does it ramp up to full power. The big advantage here is the noise reduction.
While competing sonic brushes often buzz in an annoying way, Oclean works extremely quietly and smoothly. The built-in pressure sensor automatically reduces motor power if you press too hard on your teeth, protecting enamel and gums.
Artificial intelligence, mapping, and imperfections
Thanks to the 6-axis gyroscope and AI algorithms, the brush can monitor your movement in real time in your mouth and divide your smile into 12 zones. After cleaning, it shows a detailed 3D model of your teeth right on the display or in the mobile app, marking with red spots exactly the areas you missed or didn’t clean thoroughly enough.
In the Oclean Care app, you can tap together detailed morning and evening routines and set up to 32 intensity levels, plus sync with Apple Health. However, this is where we hit a weaker point of the brush. Smart features and analytics reports don’t always work perfectly. We noticed that zone detection sometimes misreads the position.
The app environment itself isn’t the most user-friendly and it’s in awkward English. Yes—even translating it to English didn’t turn out quite right, but what can you do. We believe that over time, most users will stop actively opening the app and will rely only on the data shown on the display. We noticed that the brush is often disconnected from the phone in the morning, or from the Wi‑Fi router.
This shows up as the relevant information on the display after you activate the brush by pressing the button. But the culprit may be aggressive background app closing on your phone. On the other hand, we think the brush should be able to keep a connection at least to a familiar Wi‑Fi network even without a phone present.

Rich bundle of the S version and real battery life
The version with the “S” label scores with unusually rich accessories in the box. You get a solid travel case and a completely new, very flat magnetic wall holder that also acts as a charger and keeps the brush stable.
In the box, you’ll find three different cleaning heads with quality DuPont fibers: Ultra Clean for intense coating, Ultra White for surface stains, and Gum Care with extra-soft bristles for sensitive gums, plus a tongue scraper on the back.
All heads use FlexFit technology—a rubberized flexible joint that absorbs impacts from the plastic against your teeth and increases cleaning comfort. Original replacement heads, however, are rather expensive, and two replacement pieces will easily cost you around 20 euros. In terms of power, the manufacturer claims a battery life of up to 40 days.
In real-world use, when using intensive modes, the display, and evaluating smart data, the battery life is closer to about 2 weeks, sometimes even 2.5 weeks. This applies when used 2x a day with the Quick Cleaning mode. Longer or stronger modes can drain the brush sooner.
Although it’s significantly less than the paper promises, it still represents above-average value that will easily cover your two-week vacation. A big plus is the standard USB-C port built directly into the brush, so you can charge it in about 3 hours with a regular phone cable.
Oclean X Pro 20 S review: Final verdict
Oclean X Pro 20 S is an excellent smart sonic toothbrush that delivers huge value for the money in the mid to higher segment. It offers top-tier cleaning performance comparable to the most expensive premium models, fantastically quiet operation, a reliable physical button, and great packaging including a holder, a case, and FlexFit brush heads.
If you can live with slightly shorter real battery life than promised, along with occasional inaccuracies in the smart statistics or a lack of clarity in the app, you’ll get a great helper that takes your dental hygiene up a level.
For tech enthusiasts and demanding users looking for an excellent price-to-performance ratio, this is a clearly recommended buy. We believe that, compared with cheaper electric toothbrushes, in this case you’ll get a truly higher level of performance and overall quality for the extra cost.
