Not long ago, the world was introduced to the Redmi K30 Pro. It’s a model that stirred things up in the flagship segment.
Redmi is defined as a brand that delivers great performance for a low price. You probably also remember the Poco brand, which is known for strong performance at a reasonable price.
Indian Redmi aka Poco
According to the well-known portal XDA Developers, a new Poco F2 Pro model will be introduced in India soon. However, unconfirmed information suggests that the model Poco F2 Pro will be a renamed version of Redmi K30 Pro.

That would make sense, since the Redmi K30 model was introduced in India as the Poco X2.
Codename Imi
Information from Google Play shows, however, that the Poco F2 Pro model carries the codename „Imi“. What’s interesting is that the same codename is used for the Redmi K30 Pro.
This confirms that the Redmi K30 Pro and Poco F2 Pro should really be identical devices. On the other hand, POCO F2 (without Pro) could be a completely different device.
This list confirms the previous findings that the Redmi K30 Pro model will be launched on the market under the POCO brand. Redmi K30 Pro, however, exists in two code-name variants – “lmi” and “lmiin”.
„In“ at the end indicates the Indian model, just like it did with several Xiaomi and Redmi devices. In this list, though, „lmiin“ is not used for the POCO F2 Pro — only „lmi“.
The „lmipro“ label assigned to the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom model should have an Indian variant in the form of „lmiinpro“, while still keeping the Redmi brand. This leads us to conclude that the Redmi K30 Pro smartphone will be launched in India under the Redmi brand, while the POCO F2 Pro will be intended for other global markets.
Once again, Xiaomi is giving its fans a pretty confusing mess between smartphone names. Why? Only the manufacturer itself can answer that.
As soon as new information about the global version of the expected Redmi K30 Pro shows up, we’ll keep you posted among the first.
