Just a few hours ago, we witnessed the launch of new Redmi flagship phones from the K30 lineup. They were introduced in 2 models together — K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom.
We covered a detailed summary of the phones globally in our article, but now we’ll take a closer look at the differences between these two smartphones.
The main difference is in the cameras
The first and most important difference concerns the cameras and their features. Below you’ll find a detailed description of the sensors:
| Redmi K30 Pro | Redmi K30 Pro Zoom | |
|---|---|---|
| Primary sensor | 64 MPx Sony IMX 686 Exmor RS | 64 MPx Sony IMX 686 Exmor RS |
| Aperture f/1.89 | sensor size 1/1.7″ | 1.6 µm | Aperture f/1.89 | sensor size 1/1.7″ | 1.6 µm | |
| 6P lens | 7P lens (lets in more light) | |
| Electronic image stabilization | 4-axis optical stabilization | |
| 8K 30 fps | 4K 60 fps video | 8K 30 fps | 4K 60 fps video | |
| Ultra-wide sensor | 13 MPx | field of view angle 123° | 13 MPx | field of view angle 123° |
| Telephoto | 5 MPx | made for macro photos | 8 MPx | 3-times optical zoom | 30-times digital |
| No stabilization | 4-axis optical stabilization | |
| Portrait sensor | 2 MPx | pixel size 1.75 μm | 2 MPx | pixel size 1.75 μm |
As you could have noticed, the first difference is in the main sensor. Redmi K30 Pro, unlike the K30 Pro Zoom, does not have 4-axis optical stabilization, but only electronic stabilization.
The main sensor in the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom also has one more lens — for a total of 7, compared to 30 on the K6 Pro. Thanks to this, the Zoom will deliver slightly better results, because more light reaches the sensor.
The second difference is in the telephoto lenses. The Redmi K30 Pro has a 5 MPx telephoto lens designed for beautiful, highly detailed macro photos, with an equivalent focal length of up to 50 mm, which is closest to the way the human eye sees and can focus on nearby distances from 3 to 7 cm. Just like the main sensor, it also does not have optical stabilization.
The telephoto lens on the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom comes with an incredible 30x digital and 3x optical zoom, and it also features 4-axis optical stabilization. This means that only the Zoom model has the mentioned dual optical stabilization.
In the cheapest version, Redmi reduced
Redmi K30 Pro is available in configurations of 6 GB / 8 GB RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB storage. The most affordable configuration, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, is the only one that comes with older LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.0 storage.
All the other configurations, including the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, come with newer and more powerful LPDDR5 RAM as well as UFS 3.1 internal storage.
These are all the differences we know about so far. In its category, the phone belongs to the top tier — and there’s no reason to be surprised. The best processor, excellent cameras, fast storage, and many other aspects rightfully place this smartphone among the flagship killers.
The base configuration of the Redmi K30 Pro in the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage version starts at a price of around €394 / 11 00 CZK. This version is the one that got a slightly slower memory, but in real life you’ll barely notice it. The complete China price list for K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom is available in our article about the phone launch.
However, the currently available prices are meant only for the Chinese market, and we don’t yet have any official information about global availability.
