Redmi K30 Pro should offer wireless charging, 5G and 33 W fast wired charging

The company Redmi, as a subsidiary brand of Xiaomi, has introduced an affordable model Redmi K30, which may also appear on selected markets under another subsidiary brand POCO X2. But we’re also eagerly awaiting an upgraded version, the Redmi K30 Pro, which, according to current information, should feature wireless charging, 5G, and fast 33W charging.

Wireless charging?

The Redmi K30 Pro model could be very similar to a competing smartphone called Honor V30 Pro. Specifically, the general manager of the Redmi brand shared an interesting image of the mentioned Honor smartphone.

In addition, Lu Weibing from Redmi specifically also mentioned the K30 Pro, and on many occasions in the past he compared previous generations—meaning the K20 Pro vs Honor V20 Pro devices.

The most interesting part of the whole situation is that this image, which lets us see the internals of the Honor V30 Pro, shows wireless charging front and center. The new feature first appeared in this generation of Honor devices.

If even the Redmi general manager is talking about it, we could probably find a very similar technology inside the Redmi K30 Pro as well.

5G technology and 33 W fast charging

Two Xiaomi devices have just passed 3C certification, only a few days after the reveal of a 33 W charging adapter that should be included in the box. The pair’s code names are M2001J11E and M2001J11C, and it’s expected that they are precisely the versions of the Redmi K30 Pro model.

The specs should also include an OLED panel and a quad rear camera setup led by the Sony IMX 686. sensor.

Even though the certificate didn’t reveal the phone’s true name, some details leaked through the well-known GeekBench test as well. It suggests that the new K30 Pro should come with the current flagship processor Qualcomm Snapgragon 865, and there should also be no shortage of dual support for SA/NSA 5G technology, with the package rounded out by 8 GB RAM. According to Lu Weibing’s previous statements, this could be LPDDR5.

The base model Redmi K30 / POCO X2 is budget-friendly.

The 33 W charging leak is closely tied to the battery capacity, which is expected to top out at 4700 mAh. That’s a slightly higher figure than the base K30 model, which offers 4500 mAh.

The question still remains: how will the front camera be handled? The K30 model has a cut-out in the display with a pair of front cameras, but this technology hasn’t been confirmed for the K30 Pro yet. So it’s possible that we’ll see a motorized solution based on the predecessor.
