The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi at its August press conference for 2023 also unveiled a new Chinese flagship from its subsidiary brand, the Redmi K60 Ultra, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor. It also impresses with the IP 68 certification and a 1.5K-resolution AMOLED display.

Redmi K60 Ultra: Here are the technical specifications

At today’s press conference, the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, shared the company’s vision for investing in the mobile industry. In this vision, the company wants to keep going—and that also results in a new Chinese flagship model, the Redmi K60 Ultra.

It impresses at first glance with its premium look and a metal frame. It even offers enhanced water- and dust-resistance with IP 68 certification. On the front, it features a flat 6.67″ AMOLED panel with a final 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate along the edges.

This panel is labeled Huaxing C7 OLED, and it stands out with a brightness of 1200 nits + a “peak” of up to 2600 nits (the same value is also on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra). It also supports HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ and 50 MPx Sony IMX800

Performance is handled by a powerful octa-core chip from MediaTek, Dimensity 9200+. It’s built on a 4 nm manufacturing process, and in the popular Antutu test it reached up to 1.7 million points. It’s also paired with a G715 graphics chip and a Pixelworks X7 chip.

The smartphone offers up to 12/16/24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a maximum of 1 TB of internal UFS 4.0 storage for your data. It will also please mobile gamers, since the Vapor Chamber cooling covers an area of up to 5000 mm².

In the MIUI graphical layer, on the top-end configuration with 24 GB RAM, you can run up to 71 apps at the same time. And that without having to put them to sleep in the background. The question remains how much you’ll actually use this feature, especially since 16 GB RAM could handle 47 apps at the same time.

The main camera is a 50 MPx (f/1.7) sensor Sony IMX800 with optical image stabilization and a 1/1.49″ sensor size. This sensor is complemented by an ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2 MPx depth sensor whose job is to blur the background. The smartphone supports recording up to 8K video (at 24 fps).

The integrated battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh. The smartphone supports ultra-fast charging with power of up to 120 W. So you’ll go from 0% to full capacity in just 19 minutes.
