There have been reports that the Redmi company is planning to expand its K60 series with a flagship model carrying the Ultra tag. Some of its specifications have also been uncovered.
An informant going by the nickname Digital Chat Station on the Chinese social network Weibo said that the biggest change will happen to the processor. So in the Redmi K60 Ultra model, we should expect a new chipset.
A powerful MediaTek processor
Specifically, it should be the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9200-Ultra, which was announced only very recently. That would mean it will be a true high-performance flagship machine from Redmi.
As for the display, it’s said that there will be an OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a high 144Hz refresh rate with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.
A top-tier camera
Even the main camera shouldn’t be anything to worry about at all, because a 50-megapixel IMX 8th generation sensor is expected to be used, along with all the software goodies of Xiaomi flagship devices.
The battery will also keep a decent capacity of 5,000 mAh, and on top of that there will be at least 100W fast charging. We guess that’s Xiaomi’s favorite 120W wired charging, and following the Redmi K60 series, wireless charging should also be available.
Will it come to the global market too?
However, you should keep in mind that the Redmi K60 Ultra model will be exclusive to the domestic Chinese market only. It’s also important to note that the base Redmi K60 ultimately also reached the global market under the name POCO F5 Pro.
That could theoretically mean that the Redmi K60 Ultra model will eventually come to us too under the name POCO F5 Ultra. We don’t know that yet, but we’ll find out in the coming months.
