The upcoming Xiaomi 13 series is giving some hints again. We’ve learned the approximate launch date, and it will even be earlier than the previous generation.
The Xiaomi 12 series was announced on the Chinese market in late December last year. It was a trio of models: Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X. Chinese leaks suggest that we could see it a bit sooner this year.
An unveiling already in November?
Right now, it looks like the Chinese giant is planning to launch at least two models by the end of this year—specifically Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The November timeline comes up most often.
According to one tipster, this series is already being tested with Android 13. There are also rumors about the processor being used. Qualcomm should introduce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in November. That’s the one that should power the Xiaomi 13 series as well.
How will this affect the global models?
Recent reports revealed that Xiaomi 13 has the code name Nuwa and the model number 2211133C. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 13 Pro model is code-named Fuxi with model number 2210132C. The ending letter C indicates versions intended for the Chinese market.
We’re still curious to see how an earlier launch on the Chinese market will affect the global models. Will they also be introduced about a month earlier, or will the global launch remain unaffected? We’ll have to wait a few more months for that. One reason for the earlier unveiling could also be the effort to catch the Christmas shopping frenzy at least in the home market.
Xiaomi 13 could be a compact flagship just like its predecessor. Both models are expected to feature an AMOLED display with curved edges and a selfie camera in a small punch-hole area. The rear triple camera setup, built in collaboration with Leica, shouldn’t be missing either.
