Right now, Vivo X200 Pro is something of an unofficial king, boasting great sensors as well as tuned software.

The latest video from the channel ben’s gadget reviews compares the cameras of these two smartphones. So which one shoots better?

Xiaomi 15 Ultra and its photo gear

When you look at the camera setup of the new Xiaomi 15 Ultra, it’s clear it aims really high. The foundation is solid hardware, and this new model definitely delivers. The main camera is a huge 1-inch 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. Compared to its predecessor, however, it has lost the variable aperture.

Next, there’s a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with an aperture of f/1.8, optical image stabilization, and 3x zoom, but the main star is a massive 200-megapixel periscope camera with an aperture of f/2.6 and 4.3x optical zoom, which can capture stunning macro shots.

A 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 115-degree field of view rounds out the lineup. You don’t need to be introduced to the Vivo X200 Pro camera setup anymore—you probably already know it very well. If not, you can find the details in our article.

An intense camera showdown: Xiaomi 15 Ultra vs Vivo X200 Pro

Both phones have excellent cameras with a lot of shooting modes, settings, and filters. In auto mode with vivid live colors enabled, both models capture beautiful shots with outstanding detail and sharpness. The video shows that Xiaomi can focus a bit faster, with slightly warmer yet also more natural-looking colors. However, the differences are minimal.

Besides the video comparison, there’s also a direct comparison of photos from the X social network by @BenGeskin, which you can see below. The photos show great detail on both phones, but subjectively, the Vivo X200 Pro has much more processed colors.

In lower light, Xiaomi delivers more natural colors, while Vivo tends to create a somewhat “watery” effect. Xiaomi wins again in focusing speed, but Vivo can quite often surprise you and offer a better photo. The selfie camera on the Vivo X200 Pro produces sharper shots, while the ultra-wide cameras are very similar.

Xiaomi offers two zoom lenses, while Vivo has just one. Both phones can produce great shots with natural background blur. In lower light, Xiaomi delivers sharper images and generally produces better shots at 6x to 10x zoom. At 30x zoom, Xiaomi captures sharper shots with more accurate skin tones.

The test results show that both smartphones have top-tier cameras, but Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a slight edge. Compared to the Vivo X200 Pro, it offers faster autofocus, more consistent telephoto performance, and better overall optical zoom.

Vivo should, however, have one more ace up its sleeve, as it’s preparing the launch of the X200 Ultra model, which will push the camera even further. There’s definitely still plenty to look forward to.
