The new Xiaomi 17T model appeared right in the HyperOS system code, and along with that, some pretty interesting details about the specs came to light as well. If the leaks are confirmed, the “T”-branded series could move from the traditional autumn to February, which would be a pretty significant step for Xiaomi.

A bigger battery as a clear priority for Xiaomi 17T
By far the biggest change is, without a doubt, the battery. Xiaomi 17T is expected to get a 6,500 mAh capacity, which is a noticeable increase over the previous generation. If you often care about battery life and don’t want to hunt for a charger every evening, this sounds very promising. Charging is still rated at 67 W, so records won’t be broken, but in practice it’s still a speed that should work comfortably.
Interesting things are also happening in the camera department. Xiaomi this time it goes for a combination of sensors from OmniVision and Samsung. The main role should be played by OmniVision OV50E, supplemented by OV13B for ultra-wide shots and Samsung ISOCELL JN5 for a telephoto lens. In front, a “selfie” sensor should appear Samsung ISOCELL S5KKDS. Compared to the previous model, it’s a noticeable shift in philosophy, so we’re curious whether it will show up more in photo quality or better consistency across the different lenses.
A new Dimensity chip with an emphasis on AI
Performance should be handled by MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, a relatively fresh chip with a strong focus on AI features. MediaTek pushes generative and agentic AI scenarios in particular, so HyperOS can fully make use of the new smart functions directly in the system. One interesting detail is that the same chip is also used in the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, so we at least have a rough idea of what we can expect from Xiaomi 17T in terms of performance.
Alongside the base model, Xiaomi 17T Pro has also appeared in databases earlier, and everything suggests the entire 17T lineup could arrive in February 2026. If that’s confirmed, Xiaomi would definitely disrupt its established schedule, and this specific model range would hit the market much sooner than before.
So far, it’s only information from code and databases, but even now, Xiaomi 17T looks like a very interesting mix of battery life, performance, and new hardware. We’ll keep following the development, and as soon as more details come out, we’ll definitely let you know.
