Xiaomi is preparing for its next big launch event, which is expected to take place already next month. Besides a new generation of foldables, we should also see a new tablet.
The MIUI official server now has firmware prepared for two devices: the foldable smartphone Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 and the tablet Xiaomi Pad 6 Max. This only confirms that the devices will be officially launched in August.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 3
The foldable smartphone Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 should eliminate all the flaws of the previous generation, with the code name babylon. It will be based on a combination of Android 13 and MIUI 14.1.
The latest internal MIUI build is MIUI-V14.1.1.0.TMVCNXM. The MIX Fold 3 will be available again only on the Chinese market, which is a huge shame.
The main improvement should be the cameras, which here should come from a smartphone Xiaomi 13 Ultra. That means a main 50-megapixel camera with a 1-inch Sony IMX898 sensor and another 3 Sony IMX858 sensors. Also, the internal selfie camera should be hidden under the display.
Xiaomi Pad 6 Max
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max tablet has the code name yudi and will be unveiled at the same event as the new foldable smartphone. It will feature Android 13 and MIUI 14.
The new tablet will also be available only in mainland China. Although the specs are not known yet, just from the name we can assume that the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max will get a bigger display, but with a design similar to the Xiaomi Pad 6 series.
It’s quite possible that the closer we get to the August conference date, the more specific details about these devices will be revealed. It doesn’t have to be only through leaks—Xiaomi might also publish some things on the Chinese social network Weibo.
