Chinese company Xiaomi at the eagerly awaited April press conference officially unveiled its top flagship under the name Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
It stands out with a top-end 120 Hz display from TCL with brightness up to 2600 nits, but above all with premium photography equipment developed in collaboration with Leica.
Chinese version at fantastic prices
Our partner retailer TradingShenzhen, as the first international e-shop on the market, brings you the latest Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone, which is currently available in the Chinese version.
The downside of this version is the lack of the B20 LTE band in the supported frequencies, which in Slovakia and the Czech Republic means you won’t be able to connect to the 4G LTE network outside the city. In the city, the signal will work without any issues; outside the city, on the 2G / 3G networks. The 5G network also works without problems on this version.
The phone also comes with the Chinese version of the MIUI overlay, where only Chinese and English are available as base languages. However, the seller will install the complete Google services into the phone, and they work. From a Chinese warehouse, you can also pay extra for the installation of the localized translated Xiaomi.EU ROM, which solves the language issue.
If you decide to order the phone anyway, the seller will ship it to you already from a European warehouse with express delivery within 7 days. From China, it’s available via an improved duty-free shipping service Global Priority, which we’ve tested ourselves on many parcels and it works brilliantly.
How long will this smartphone receive software support? Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes with promised security updates until 2028, with the final OS version being Android 16.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra has the brightest display on the market
Xiaomi 13 Ultra directly builds on its predecessor with the 12S Ultra label. The robust design uses metal materials and rounded corners, with overall dimensions of 163.2 x 74.6 x 9.6 mm and a weight of 227 grams.
The build is water- and dust-resistant, with IP 68 certification. There’s also high-quality protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, along with a special 2nd-generation anti-bacterial surface material on the back.
On the front, there’s a large 6.73″ AMOLED display with 1440p resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 20:9. This results in a pixel density of 529 ppi. It’s an LTPO OLED panel from TCL with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, delivering exceptionally high brightness with a maximum value of up to 2600 nits.
Power is handled by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with eight cores, built on a 4 nm process. The processor is complemented by the Adreno 740 graphics chip, plus 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of fast UFS 4.0 storage. On the software side, you get Android 13 with the MIUI 14 overlay.
Xiaomi also boasts its own smartphone cooling technology, Loop LiquidCool, which improves heat dissipation capabilities by 300 % compared to traditional VCs. It claims the smartphone can continuously record video in 4K/60 fps without losing frames.
50 MPx sensors, 8K video, and fast 90 W charging
The camera setup has also been optimized this year in collaboration with the well-known brand Leica.
The main IMX989 sensor features 50 MPx (f/1.8, Dual Pixel PDAF, Laser PDAF, OIS) and is complemented by a 50 MPx ultra-wide sensor, a 50 MPx periscope telephoto lens (f/3.0) with 5x optical zoom, a 50 MPx telephoto lens with PDAF focusing and optical stabilization, plus a ToF depth sensor.
Another major technological innovation in the 13 Ultra is the variable aperture across the entire camera sensor lineup, making photos even more detailed and sharper.
A big advantage is also support for photography in the 14bit Ultra RAW format. You’ll use this mode especially when working with popular software like Photoshop or Lightroom by Adobe. The smartphone supports recording up to 8K video (24 fps) or 4K video (60 fps). Plus, it also supports Dolby Vision. The front camera then has 32 MPx (f/2.4) and sits under a cutout in the display.
When it comes to connectivity, you’re also covered with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e/7, as well as Bluetooth 5.3, an infrared port for controlling home electronics, NFC for mobile payments, and stereo speakers from Harman / Kardon.
With the 13 Ultra, Xiaomi has finally implemented the new generation of the USB 3.2 Gen 1 connector, which reaches up to 5 Gbps maximum theoretical data transfer speeds.
The built-in battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh, while Xiaomi states a battery life of up to 1.34 days DOU. It supports fast wired charging up to 90 W, fast wireless charging up to 50 W, and reverse charging for accessories rated at 10 W.
Special Ultra Photography Kit
Xiaomi also developed a special Ultra Photography Kit for its new flagship—turning the 13 Ultra into a literally compact camera. The kit includes a back cover and a wireless camera shutter with a button that even has two positions – pressing halfway to focus and fully pressing to take photos.
The kit also includes a filter holder, with support for universal 67 mm photography filters.
Price and availability of the new flagship smartphone
The new Xiaomi 13 Ultra model will also go on sale in the international market, but for now we only know the Chinese prices. The global pricing, including availability, will be announced later.
Xiaomi’s local representation in Slovakia has already confirmed that the new device will not be sold officially on the Slovak market, but there’s no need to be sad. We believe the global version of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will reach stores via our international partners from European warehouses. The same fate also affected the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G model, which can be ordered without any problems from EU warehouses, including a 2-year warranty.
Color options Black, Olive Green, and White will be available. You can check the Chinese sale prices for each configuration below:
- 12 GB RAM + 256 GB for 5999 yuan, converted to 795 € / 872 $
- 16 GB RAM + 512 GB for 6499 yuan, converted to 860 € / 945 $
- 16 GB RAM + 1 TB for 7299 yuan, converted to 976 € / 1061 $
Optional accessories also include an additional photo kit, but we don’t have any further information yet about its international availability. In China, it will be available at an introductory price of 799 yuan (106 €); later, the price will increase to 999 yuan (132 €).
