The best-known portal for evaluating the photographic performance of smartphones DxOmark published its assessment of the smartphone Xiaomi Mi 11. In some areas it even falls behind the manufacturer’s last year’s flagship models.
As high as 22. place
DxOmark awarded it an overall score of 120, putting it as high as 22. place in the ranking of the best camera smartphones of today. It also ranked behind last year’s smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra or Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro.
The main, 108-megapixel sensor is the same as on the Mi 10 or Mi Note 10 Pro, but in the case of Mi 11 it has a slightly worse aperture.
As DxOMark explains, Xiaomi Mi 11 offers good image performance, even though it falls behind direct competitors. The photo quality and the processing system are quite good, but zooming is a bit of a letdown.

In the video category, Xiaomi Mi 11 is on top: it offers great quality, both in terms of detail and video stabilization. Besides, the video recording provided by this smartphone is very good in low-light environments.
Among the biggest pluses of this flagship when it comes to photography is a high level of detail in static shots, accurate white balance and reproduction of other colors, a wide dynamic range, and well-controlled noise in low-light photos. For outdoor video, white balance is great again, and video stabilization while walking is efficient.

The phone falls behind in focusing, which is slow in low-light and also offers inaccurate colors. There’s also criticism of the ultra-wide-angle lens, where DxOmark points to colored streaks and smooth corners.
We also praised the good photographic performance in our review, which we published on the sister site ChinaPlanet.
The latest models from the manufacturer can fix the taste
Xiaomi now has a chance to improve its reputation thanks to smartphones Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra, where it has introduced new liquid lens technology together with the Xiaomi Night Owl algorithm for even better night shots. In DxOMark’s assessment, we should see results on the portal in the coming months.
