A robust gaming chassis
The notebook is very robust thanks to demanding hardware. The dimensions are 364 x 265.2 x 20.9 mm and the weight is approx. 2.6 kg.
On the underside you’ll find 2 x 3 W speakers with Dolby Atmos sound and Hi-Res certification. It also includes a 1 MPx webcam for video calls and a built-in microphone.
A top-tier processor and display
The maximum gaming performance of the laptop is achieved mainly thanks to the Intel Core i7-9750H, which is the newest processor from the 9th generation. It was introduced in 2019, and its maximum clock speed is up to 4.5 GHz.
Benchmark results
It has 6 cores, is manufactured using a 14 nm process, and also includes integrated graphics Intel UHD Graphics 630, which supports 4K.
What sets it apart from other laptops is the insane 144 Hz IPS display! With a faster response time you’ll have an advantage over your opponents, and you’ll see everything sooner.
The screen is 15.6″ and Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 px). Pixel density is 142 ppi, it has 9 mm-thick bezels and 81% coverage of the front of the display.
The viewing angle is 178° and brightness tops out at 300 nits.
Nvidia RTX 2060 and plenty of memory
There’s probably no game that this setup can’t run. That’s confirmed by the presence of the Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics card with the latest ray-tracing technology.
It has up to 6 GB GDDR6 of memory with a 1680 MHz frequency. You’ll get a completely new gaming experience thanks to the new way it renders light and the environment.
RAM got 16 GB, it’s DDR4 and reaches a frequency of 2666 MHz. A fast SSD has a capacity of 512 GB. There’s also a second M.2 PCIe slot for memory expansion.
Backlit keyboard and battery life
What kind of gaming laptop would it be without a backlit, colorful keyboard? The Mi Gaming Laptop has a RGB keyboard with a large touchpad, which also supports gestures.
The battery capacity is 55 Wh, and since it’s a gaming laptop, battery life is weaker. Still, the notebook loses most of its performance when unplugged, so almost nobody uses it this way. Battery life is 4.5 hours when browsing the web.
A rich set of ports
With its thickness, the manufacturer could afford a better interface. There’s a Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0, 4x USB 3.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and a microphone, as well as a SD card reader SHDC.
It also includes a license for the Windows 10 operating system and an original Microsoft Office package. Of course, there’s support for Wi-Fi in both frequency bands, Bluetooth 5.0, and it also has an Intel 2×2 dual Wi-Fi antenna for a stronger signal. You can find the detailed official specs on the Mi.com page (in Chinese).
