A new connector has been added and fast charging
From a design perspective, the Mi Power Bank 3 hasn’t changed at all compared to its predecessor. It’s still a perfectly made aluminum external charger, now available in new color options – light gray and matte black. On the front you’ll also find a LED indicator, which shows the current battery status for the power bank.
Another connector has been added to the front panel – USB Type-C. Overall, the new model offers three ports: the mentioned Type-C is complemented by a classic USB-A and a microUSB connector.
USB Type-C can be used both as an output and as an input port – charging the power bank itself runs through it.
Not only the “C” connector, but also the other two support fast 18 W charging. This power meets the Quick Charge 3.0 standard. So you can charge your smartphone or tablet just as fast as from a wall outlet.
With a capacity of 10,000 mAh you can charge the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S up to 1.7x, while the iPhone XS is almost 2x. The Mi Power Bank 3’s features are rounded off with an intelligent power management system with 9-layer protection against short circuits, overvoltage, overcharging, and other unwanted electrical phenomena.
