Leaks about the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite: Water resistance up to 50 meters, built-in GPS and HD display

It’s no secret that the Chinese manufacturer is preparing new smartwatches. The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite has been talked about for a few days now. The popular line of smartwatches is set to grow by one very interesting device, and we’re now going to take a look at some specs.

First reports about the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite

The FCC certificate has now revealed several important features. The watch will include continuous heart-rate monitoring. But that’s nothing exceptional—every better smartwatch can do it.

The display will probably be OLED, and its diagonal will come in at 1,4 inches. The main difference compared to previous models will be that the display is rectangular, not round.

Brightness will be regulated automatically, which will be handled by an ambient light sensor. The leaks also say the watch will come with a very interesting price. Let’s wait and see.

Water resistance and automatic activity recognition

Enhanced water resistance won’t be missing—up to a depth of 50 meters. Along with it comes automatic activity recognition, including swimming. A number of integrated sensors will ensure accurate data related to workouts, steps, heart rate, and more.

Thanks to the built-in GPS module, you can safely leave your phone at home while running or walking. The watch will make sure you get the most accurate data from your training. When determining your location, it doesn’t have to rely only on GPS from a smartphone—you can even do it without one.

The battery will have a capacity of 230 mAh, which isn’t a lot, but it’s also not low. We haven’t learned the expected battery life yet. We expect it to be on the level of several days. Xiaomi smartwatches are known for the fact that the manufacturer really cares about battery life.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite will work with Androids and iPhones

You’ll be able to connect the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite smart watch to your Android smartphone with OS 4.4 and newer; compatibility with iPhones is also promised. Specifically, you need iOS 10 and newer.
