Xiaomi is even working on up to three new tablets. A code found in the MIUI interface revealed it

In recent years, Xiaomi has lacked representation in the tablet space. The last tablet was the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4, which debuted back in 2018. The code in MIUI revealed as many as three tablets being prepared.

Internal MIUI code tipped us off again about something

When examining the internal MIUI 12.5 code, several internal designations were found. Specifically, these are the names „nabu“, „enuma“ and „elish“. We saw that all three of these code names are referenced in methods like „isPad“, which suggests that some apps in MIUI will display differently on tablets than on smartphones.

Even the alpha version of the MIUI Home app contains a new page, where gestures for controlling the tablet-adapted interface are suggested. You can check them out in the images below.

It seems that „enuma“ and „elish“ will be the same tablets differing in how they handle 4G / 5G signal reception, with one name ending in K81 and the other name ending in K81A. Meanwhile, „nabu“ will be a separate product with a model name that ends in K82. „enuma“ appears to support voice calls, while „elish“ and „nabu“ do not, which indicates that only „enuma“ will support mobile connectivity (4G / 5G).

An analysis of source files by the Telegram XiaomiUI group shows that all three devices will have standard displays with an aspect ratio of 16:10, meaning they won’t be foldable devices—these will be tablet models.

According to leakers, the display resolution of these three products will be 2560 × 1600 pixels. Each of these devices is expected to have an IPS LCD panel with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz, with the „nabu“ model expected to go up to 144 Hz.

Inside, it will have the popular Snapdragon

Two of the tablets, „enuma“ and „elish“ will be powered by the sm8250 platform, which includes Snapdragon 865, 865+ and 870 processors. The third tablet „nabu“ will be built on the sm8150 platform as well, with Snapdragon 855, 855+ and 860 processors.

It seems Xiaomi won’t use the most powerful Snapdragon 888, which could lead to an even better final price. Xiaomi will therefore try to compete with the biggest players in the market, such as Apple and Samsung. They could again offer a great price-to-performance ratio, giving them a significant lead. If it gets unveiled, you can look forward to our detailed article.
