Just recently, we witnessed the launch of the first fully-fledged watch Xiaomi Mi Watch with its own operating system and an app store.
Through the social network Weibo, news comes that the company Xiaomi is preparing more smartwatches. This time with a round design under the Mijia brand, already on December 30 / December 2019.
Circular Mijia watch
At the end of the year, there’s a surprise in the form of a watch that, within its features, should bring smart functions. However, we don’t know what the manufacturer means by that, and the watch with a circular design has already been marked as less practical in the case of the draft of the Mi Watch with a rectangular display.
For this reason as well, the watch probably won’t offer as detailed smart features as the popular Mi Watch. It will come in the mentioned round “unisex” design, or in two versions: a men’s and a women’s one.
A more specific description makes the situation harder for us; we’ll have to wait for the technical specifications. An alternative could also be the presentation of more conventional watches in the style of the Mijia Quartz Classic Edition, which were introduced only a few days ago.
The most realistic estimate is that while they will likely be smartwatches, they’ll primarily be about the fitness band factor of the Mi Band. The device could therefore be aimed especially at customers who are looking for a watch mainly for monitoring notifications and tracking sports activities.
