Xiaomi introduced in China the Mijia High-Speed Hair Dryer Mini. It weighs 270 grams without a cable, and according to the manufacturer it is 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the 2023 H501 model. The motor still spins at the same 110,000 revolutions per minute. The official Youpin store lists it for 299 yuan, which is under 40 euros. During the introductory promotion, Xiaomi offers it from 199 yuan—i.e., under 30 euros.
The Xiaomi Mini hair dryer is one third smaller than the H501
The mini hair dryer body measures 76 × 61 × 218 mm. The older Mijia H501 weighed 345 g at launch, so the Mini is roughly 75 g lighter. Xiaomi recommends it for travel, the gym, and everyday drying at home.
You can choose from three pastel colors: pink, purple and creamy white. The cable has its own strap to tie it up. The filter at the air intake holds on with a magnet. During cleaning, you pull it down and snap it back on. The double fine mesh prevents hair from reaching the motor.
Short hair in a minute, temperature monitored by a sensor
Inside there is a new brushless micromotor. It has a 1,8 mm smaller diameter than the motor in the H501. However, the RPM and air speed are still the same—62 m/s (about 223 km/h). Power consumption is 1200 W, and the H501 is 1600 W.
According to Xiaomi’s tests, you can dry short hair in about one minute, medium-length hair in 3 minutes, and long hair in 5 minutes. The NTC sensor measures the air temperature 200-times per second, while the H501 does it at half that speed. The hair dryer has two speeds and four temperature modes: cool, warm, hot, and alternating cool with warm.
Positive and negative ions, plus a child mode
The hair dryer releases both positive and negative ions. They are meant to prevent hair from becoming electrically charged and frizzy. Xiaomi claims 36,99% less roughness and 20 % higher shine. According to the manufacturer, the ions can also help clean the scalp and protect against Malassezia yeast and mites. These are figures from Xiaomi’s own tests, so take them with a grain of salt.

The child mode blows cooler, gentler air. With all settings, that gives 10 combinations. The hair dryer remembers your last setting, but not the child mode. You need to turn it on each time by holding the button for 2 seconds.
Sold only in China for now
Pre-orders on Youpin start on 20 October at 10:00 China time and run until 27 October. According to the store page, the hair dryers will start shipping gradually after 27 October. They are sold directly by Xiaomi. With a price of 299 yuan, the Mini is more expensive than last year’s Mijia High-Speed Hair Dryer at 219 yuan. The flagship Mijia Pro with a TOF sensor costs 799 yuan.
Xiaomi sales outside China have not been reported, and the global website mi.com has Mi.com Mini yet. Officially, you can buy a Xiaomi High-speed Ionic Hair Dryer here. The motor has the same 110 000 RPM and airflow 62 m/s, but the power consumption is 1600 W. According to the European technical specifications on mi.com, it weighs 406 g without the attachment and cable. The Mini is 136 g lighter. On Heureke, you’ll find it from 19. October 2026 for from 41 €.
