A monitor lamp can be a practical companion, especially when working in the evening or at night. We use this screen lighting ourselves in the editorial office, and this time the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is bringing an upgraded version with smart features. Its official name is Xiaomi Computer Monitor Light Bar 1S.
Xiaomi Computer Monitor Light Bar 1S: A new monitor lamp
Xiaomi usually uses the “S” in its name to mark the second generation of products, which are more of an evolution of the original first generations. We could see similar naming, for example, with the second generation of Xiaomi’s compressor. The new Xiaomi Computer Monitor Light Bar 1S now also brings advanced intelligent control and intuitive remote control.
The light fixture has a standard design with attachment to the top edge of your monitor. The attachment is really easy, and the matte black color combination is also an advantage—it will match most monitor types (monitor thickness supported from 0 – 32 millimeters).
The lamp’s construction also includes a rotating knob, which lets you swivel it up to 40°. The light then covers an area of approximately 45 centimeters around the screen.
Basic features: It also has Wi-Fi and RA95
When we look at the technical equipment of this monitor lamp, the advantage is color rendering index RA95. Thanks to this index, you’ll achieve truly natural lighting of your surroundings without flickering, along with reduced eye fatigue during longer use.
Another big advantage is also the remote control, which comes in the form of a wireless rotary controller. There’s a trio of lighting modes to choose from, each with a different color temperature, but besides pressing this control element, you can also adjust the brightness of the lighting by turning it.
However, controlling the light fixture is also possible via a smartphone. Thanks to Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth (LE). Specifically, it’s controlled through the mobile app Xiaomi Home. Since this is the Chinese version, voice control and support for the intelligent assistant XiaoAI are also included.
The maximum brightness of this lamp is 300 lumens, and when illuminating the mentioned 45 centimeters, the maximum light intensity is up to 900 lx. The lamp is powered via a cable and supports 5V / 2A.
