On your new Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphone, you can get YouTube Premium for free for 3 months! Here’s how it works

YouTube Premium is a very popular alternative that you can now get for up to three months when you buy a new Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphone.

Up to three months of YouTube Premium for free!

The popular YouTube service is known for its monetization through targeted ads before and during the video. Still, users can also choose the paid version of this service—YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium. You can get access to this paid service for up to three months, completely free, thanks to your new Xiaomi device.

A Chinese manufacturer has prepared a gift for its fans. In cooperation directly with YouTube, they’ve made an agreement where users of new Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices can take advantage of a Premium trial for 2 – 3 months, during the period from February 24, 2024 to July 31, 2024.

Among the main benefits of YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium, of course, is ad-free playback. Besides that, you can also download your songs and videos for offline listening, and you can even play content with the screen turned off. To use both apps without ads, you only need one Premium service activation.

How to activate YouTube Premium on a Xiaomi smartphone for free?

We tested activating YouTube Premium on our new Xiaomi 14, and the whole process is very simple. We did these steps:

1. Open the YouTube app and tap into the “My” section—your profile—and then click Get YouTube Premium

2. You’ll see a welcome screen with information about YouTube Premium, which you can use for 3 months for free if you own a Xiaomi smartphone. On this page, click Try 3 months free.
3. In the next dialog window, you’ll be asked to add your credit/debit card, because the service signs you in to the paid subscription right away. However, payments start charging only after the first 3 months.
4. For card verification, Google may charge you 1 €, but once the card is verified, they’ll refund that amount to you.
5. Done, you have active YouTube Premium for free for 3 months.

The big advantage is that YouTube Premium is activated for your entire account, which means you can enjoy Premium service benefits not only on your Xiaomi smartphone, but also on other devices like a PC or your smart TV!

Don’t forget that during the process you signed up for a paid subscription, and payments will start being charged after your 3-month free trial ends. The cheapest subscription package costs 7,19 €.

You can cancel this subscription right away so you don’t forget about it after 3 months (which happens very often), and your free YouTube Premium will keep working for those 3 months without any problems. Here’s how to cancel the subscription:

1. Open Google Play, tap your profile photo, and a menu will show up where you select Payments and subscriptions.

2. In the next step, choose Subscriptions
3. You’ll see a list of all the apps you subscribe to—select YouTube

4. Then just tap Cancel subscription, choose a reason, and confirm.
5. As you can see, in our case the free subscription is active until 27.8.2024, and we made the activation on 27.5.2024.
