Professional image in 4K UHD resolution

At the heart of the camera is a 8 MPx sensor capable of capturing video in 3840 × 2160 pixels. With HDR calibration, the camera handles demanding lighting conditions—details stay preserved in both dark and bright areas of the image. In practice, that means a clean, balanced picture without overexposed spots or lost details.

The device offers a 360° horizontal and 109° vertical field of view, so it can monitor the entire space without any issues. Thanks to the H.265 codec, playback is smooth and it also saves storage space.

Full-color night vision and infrared illumination

Xiaomi Smart Camera C701 takes night recording to a new level. It uses a sensitive sensor and infrared illumination with a 940 nm wavelength, which is not visible to the naked eye. Recordings look natural and won’t disturb your sleep. The night vision range is up to 10 meters.

With high light sensitivity, the camera can capture in full color even in low light. Automatic switching to black-and-white happens later, giving you more realistic footage even after dark.

AI features: tracking people, pets, and babies

The device has an integrated AI chip that processes data locally—without needing to send it to the cloud. That makes processing faster and safer. The camera can recognize a person, a pet, or even a crying baby.

There’s also detection of loud sounds or a virtual fence. When the camera detects unusual motion or noise, it immediately sends you an alert in the Xiaomi Home app. Thanks to automatic tracking, it can also smoothly follow the subject in the frame.

Privacy protection and security

Xiaomi equips the camera with a physical lens cover that you can manually pull shut or set a timer for automatic covering. Data transmission runs through a multi-encrypted channel, and the camera has a built-in security chip MJA1 to protect against hackers.

The AI processing itself runs locally, so sensitive data doesn’t leave your home. It’s a solution that combines modern technologies with a high level of privacy protection.

Connection, storage, and control

The camera supports Wi-Fi 6 (2.4/5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.4 for stable, low-latency connectivity. Recordings can be saved to a microSD card (8 – 256 GB), to NAS storage, or to the cloud.

You also get two-way voice communication—thanks to the noise-cancelling microphone and a loud speaker, you can talk to your family or pets directly through the app. The camera is compatible with voice assistants Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Quick setup and flexible placement

The Xiaomi Smart Camera C701 can be placed on a desk or shelf, or mounted to the ceiling with support for inverted viewing. Installation takes three steps: connect the power, download the Xiaomi Home app, and pair it via a QR code. The whole process takes only a few minutes.

Thanks to its compact size 79 × 79 × 119 mm and a modern design, the camera will fit into any home without feeling intrusive.

Price and availability

The new camera will be available on all European markets, including Slovakia and the Czech Republic. We’ve already spotted the camera listed on the biggest SK/CZ e-shop Alza, but at the time of writing it wasn’t available for order. The price is set at €59.90.
