Redmi, as a subsidiary brand of the Chinese company Xiaomi, presents more smartphone models for its lineup. These are new and affordable low-end models Redmi 9A and 9C. The updates will surprise you not only with a modern design, but also with very low prices and processors from the current MediaTek Helio G series.
Redmi 9A: The entry-level and most affordable model
The new model labeled Redmi 9A will offer an IPS LCD display with a 6.53″ diagonal and HD+ resolution. The design of this smartphone is very similar to the more expensive Redmi 9 model and also includes a teardrop notch. However, the back features just one rear camera.
The specs include an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor, which will deliver a maximum clock speed of 2 GHz. The processor is paired with 2 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The storage can also be expanded with a microSD memory card.
There’s also a high-capacity battery up to 5000 mAh, a 13 MPx rear camera, DualSIM technology support, Wi-Fi of type 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, and also GPS. Charging is handled via a USB Type-C connector; you’ll also get a 3,5 mm audio jack, an infrared port, plus an NFC chip and a fingerprint reader.
Redmi 9C: A better-equipped A
Besides the new 9A model, the company also introduced a somewhat better-equipped Redmi 9C. In this case, you get the same 6.53″ IPS display with HD+ resolution. The change comes in the design of the back panel, which is more modern and offers up to three cameras.
The equipment includes the same octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor with a clock speed of 2,3 GHz. It is paired with 2 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32 GB of storage, which is of the eMMC 5.1 type. In this case as well, you can expand storage with a microSD memory card.
You get the same battery capacity of 5000 mAh. The main camera is 13 MPx, complemented by a 2 MPx secondary sensor and a 5 MPx ultra-wide-angle sensor. DualSIM technology is included, along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS connectivity, plus a USB Type-C connector, an infrared port, a fingerprint reader, and a 3,5 mm audio jack.
Price and availability of the Redmi 9A and 9C models
The new Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C smartphones should be officially launched on the sales market as early as July 7, 2020. They will be available in just one configuration: 2 GB RAM + 32 GB internal storage—and these are their selling prices.
Redmi 9A: 2 GB RAM / 32 GB storage for approximately €75 / $84.
Redmi 9C: 2 GB RAM / 32 GB storage for approximately €89 / $100.
