Surely, each of us tech enthusiasts remembers the quirky situation when Apple decided to remove charging adapters from the box of iPhone 12 phones. A similar fate will also befall the Xiaomi Mi 11 model line.
Apart from removing charging adapters from the standard accessories, Xiaomi has decided to team up with a leading audio company, so we can look forward to top-tier speakers from Harman Kardon.
Xiaomi is following its US rival
Several companies “copied” Apple by removing chargers from the iPhone 12 boxes “copying”, and among them is, for example, Samsung. On the other hand, Chinese Xiaomi obviously welcomes this idea, since their upcoming flagship Mi 11 can take the same route.

Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, on his Weibo account shared a post in which he prepares the brand’s fans for the removal of charging adapters from smartphone boxes. In the image above, you can see a box that’s roughly half the size of the Mi 11 smartphone.
We assume that the Chinese giant will comment on this decision during the conference itself, where the new model line will be presented to the world. It’s also expected that one of the arguments will be saving the environment.
Renowned leakster Ice Universe this news was also confirmed via his post on the social network Twitter. The leakster, however, states that unlike Apple, Xiaomi approaches the whole issue differently, but he kept the details to himself.
Of course, form your own opinion about this decision. With the US giant, it turned out that the main driving force behind removing charging adapters was money. Let’s see whether a similar scenario plays out with Xiaomi too.
High-quality Harman Kardon speakers
The second, more positive piece of news is the Chinese giant’s collaboration with the well-known audio brand Harman Kardon. Thanks to this collaboration, we can look forward to an even better listening experience—especially since, already in this year’s Mi 10 series, the result was excellent.
If this brand still doesn’t mean anything to you, maybe this will help: it has worked with companies like BMW, Peugeot, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, and Subaru. So no one has to have any doubts that the audio output from the new Mi 11 family smartphones will be top-notch.
And what about you? What’s your opinion on removing charging adapters from smartphone boxes despite the mockery from the US Apple, as well as the collaboration with a premium audio tech manufacturer? Feel free to share your views and impressions with us in the discussion below the article.
We’ll continue to closely monitor the whole situation regarding the smartphones from the eleventh series. All updates from the presentation conference, which will take place on 28 December 2020, we’ll publish on our website and also on Facebook.
