Both versions of the lamp have a manufacturer-specified rated power of 50 W, which means that for one hour of continuous lighting they consume 0,05 kWh of electricity. If we calculate that 1 kWh of electricity costs 0,25 €, operating the lamp for one hour comes to 0,0125 €, so just a little over 1 cents.

Our experience: at home, they’ve been lighting for over a year
These lamps aren’t just something we know from marketing materials. In our apartment, two pieces have been in use for more than a year and we’re very happy with them. They’re properly powerful, and you can control them with the remote and via the Xiaomi Home app, and the ambient backlighting is awesome. We use the night mode the most in the room we currently have set up as an office. Working in the evening after dark, it’s a pleasant extra light, and the computer monitors don’t then glare into your eyes.

The only thing I’d criticize is that the top colored light can be changed only through the app, not also with that small remote that comes with it. Otherwise it’s great.
That observation is good to know in advance: the color of the top ambient light can be set only in the app; the small controller can’t change it. For regular lighting and brightness settings, though, it’s enough.
Smart lighting from Xiaomi and Yeelight
You can control the Yeelight Arwen C ceiling light with your voice too. It’s compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. No matter which of these ecosystems you use, the new lighting will definitely not disappoint you.
Besides that, you can traditionally rely on app control—here it’s either Yeelight or Xiaomi Home. Since it’s a Xiaomi product, it will work great with devices in Xiaomi Home.
The lamp connects to the app via WiFi 2.4 GHz and also includes Bluetooth, and it can be used as a Bluetooth gateway for other smaller devices or sensors that don’t have WiFi. This is extremely handy if you own one of the Xiaomi Bluetooth thermometers. With this lamp, you’ll be able to access them remotely, even when you’re not at home.
As for control, the package also includes the original remote, with the option to control brightness and colored backlighting.
As an optional accessory for control, you can also purchase the original Yeelight Smart Wireless Dimmer — a fully wireless dimmer that simply mounts on the wall and automatically pairs with the lamp. With a press, you can turn the lights on; by turning, you can dim or brighten them; and by holding the button, you can change the color if the controlled device supports it.
The Yeelight Arwen C series of lamps comes in two sizes:
- 450C with a 495 mm diameter: The light is suitable for illuminating smaller rooms with an area of 10 – 20 square meters
- 550C with a 598 mm diameter: Ideal even for larger rooms with an area of 20 – 30 square meters
Elegant and smart lighting
The lights are discreet and bring a good dose of elegance. The sides are pleasantly rounded, ensuring a smooth light distribution throughout the room. Yeelight Arwen C consists of two main parts – the main light and mood light. It comes with support for 16 million colors, so the color scene in your home can be exactly how you imagine it.
You don’t need to worry about installing the light either. It’s very easy, and you can handle it in just a few minutes. Besides supporting 16 million colors, it can also shine in white at color temperatures from 2700 to 6500K. A warmer setting is great, for example, in the evening before you go to sleep, while cooler settings are perfect during your work performance.
The highlight is the “moon” mode, in which the light can shine at an absolutely minimal brightness and, of course, in warmer colors. This setting is perfect before bed, but you can also leave the light on during sleep. In summer, this ceiling light won’t have any trouble with insects either.
Yeelight Arwen C: Bye-bye to mosquitoes and dust or dirt
The design has no unnecessary holes or cutouts, so mosquitoes and other annoying insects won’t get stuck in it. In addition, this construction also prevents dust or dirt from getting caught. Both new models have maximum power 50 W regardless of the light’s diameter.
The brightness of the smaller 450C model is 4000 lm, while the larger 550C has a brightness of 4500 lm. The LED lifespan is up to 25 thousand hours, which means more than 1000 days of continuous lighting. This light will last for several long years.
