Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 with a MicroLED display? Leaks say extreme brightness, 35-day battery life, titanium, and satellite SOS

Amazfit, according to the latest leaks, is preparing to shake things up significantly in the rugged smartwatch segment. The upcoming Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 has turned up in the code of a recent update to the Zepp app, which usually means just one thing—an official unveiling is right around the corner. The new model should build on the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra from 2023, but this time it looks like a proper technological leap.

Titanium or steel? Leaks slightly contradict each other

According to forum info from 4PDA, the T-Rex Ultra 2 should get a 1.5-inch display, with MicroLED technology increasingly being mentioned. If these speculations are confirmed, it would be one of the first mass-available smartwatches with this type of screen. The alleged maximum brightness exceeding 3 000 nits suggests that readability in direct sunlight should be absolutely without compromises—exactly what the target outdoor community expects.

What’s interesting is that sources don’t agree on the case material. One group of leakers says it will use a TC4 titanium alloy and certification for diving to a depth of 100 meters, which would bring Amazfit even closer to professional dive watch solutions. The second version, however, mentions 316L stainless steel and special “dirt-resistant” buttons—i.e., a design intended to withstand mud, sand, and dust without sticking. No matter where the truth lies, in both cases it’s a clear sign that Amazfit is heading into the premium segment.

On the software side, support for the Zepp Flow voice assistant is expected, along with new BioTracker sensors for more accurate health tracking, and expanded dive features. Another big draw is the mentioned satellite communication with SOS mode, which would make the T-Rex Ultra 2 an ideal companion for expeditions beyond civilization.

Battery life that humiliates the competition

A battery with a capacity of approximately 700 mAh is said to deliver battery life somewhere between 25 and 35 days with regular use. If these numbers are confirmed, Amazfit will once again show that it’s among the absolute top players in battery life. For comparison, the current Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro is sold for $399.99 and already offers a very solid balance between features and battery life.

Based on available information, the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 should go on sale in the first quarter of 2026—meaning no later than the end of March. Most likely, its premiere will take place at the MWC 2026 in Barcelona, where Amazfit traditionally unveils its biggest news. The price tag is said to fluctuate between $449 and $549, which would be a noticeable increase, but given the MicroLED display, satellite features, and premium materials, it would make sense.

If even part of the leaks is confirmed, Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 could be one of the most interesting outdoor smartwatches of 2026. MicroLED, extreme brightness, rugged build and satellite connectivity sound like a combo competitors won’t be able to ignore. Now it’s just a question of how many of these promises will turn into the final product.
