Xiaomi’s latest products have a very interesting built-in PAI feature. But what is it and what exactly is it for? If you own a gadget like the Mi Band 5 or Amazfit, pay attention.

What is the PAI feature and what is it actually for?

The latest devices from Xiaomi have introduced a rather interesting PAI feature. If you haven’t heard of it yet or don’t know what it’s for, you’ll learn everything you need in this article.

If you own the latest Mi Band or Amazfit device and care about your health, you’ll definitely find this feature useful.

PAI

The new generation of the Mi Band 5 from Xiaomi has up to 50% higher measurement accuracy compared to other devices or previous generations of Amazfit watches.

Not only the PAI values have been improved, but also the calorie counter, distance traveled, steps, sleep tracking, and heart rate monitor.

PAI

In practice, the PAI value indicates your level of physical activity. It shows what kind of lifestyle you lead in terms of physical activity, your habits, workouts, and then evaluates it using data. If you move around or exercise very little, the band will of course alert you if the setting is turned on.

The whole physical activity system, meaning PAI, works on the principle of various algorithms that evaluate yours based on an average healthy lifestyle. The watch or band then tells you how you’re doing, or what to improve.

The PAI index is also a mix of your heart rate, height, weight, gender, or age. Monitoring runs throughout the week, and at the end all the collected data forms a whole that then provides a summary of all activities and, if needed, compares it with the previous period – the week.

Ideal PAI value is 100 and above

The PAI value ranges from 0 to 125. The ideal result of weekly physical activity should be equal to or higher than 100. In that case, everything is fine and your health should even be less exposed to various issues such as cardiovascular diseases.

PAI

To reach 100 or more, you don’t have to struggle in any special way. Just make sure that each day you take a few flights of stairs, walk to the store or the post office, or simply ride a few laps on your bike. In this kind of case, you can get close to the value of 80, which is only a very small step away from 100.
