In Japan, it’s in 8 out of 10 households. In Europe, Smartmi doesn’t sell it! Fans bring the heated toilet seat with a bidet from China and say they don’t want anything else anymore

Smart toilet lids with a bidet are as normal in Japan as a kettle is for us. According to a survey by a Japanese government office, they have it in about 80 % of households. In Europe it’s still a rarity, and the Smartmi brand from Xiaomi’s ecosystem does not officially sell its lid Smartmi Smart Heated Bidet Toilet Seat 2S here at all, nor the more expensive 2 Pro model.

So in Slovakia, only the Chinese version arrives—already owned by fans from our Facebook group, too. Two of them shared their experiences, including what bothers them about the lid. That’s why you’ll find, below, not only the price but also the dimensions you need to measure before buying, plus tips on caring for the lid when you have hard water at home.

Japanese comfort that arrives by truck from China

The Smartmi smart toilet lid is sold by the verified shop Gshopper, which—based on our recommendation—added it to their offer. The price in the box is payable upon delivery by truck, which takes about 30 days, and since delivery is customs-free, when you collect it you pay nothing extra. If you’re in a hurry, Gshopper also offers air delivery for the product, with delivery in roughly 10 days.

If the lid needs to end up under the Christmas tree, when shipping by truck set aside some extra time and order it by about November 20. For later orders, air delivery is the safer bet.

Martin found it in Japan; Ľuboš already has a second

When someone in our group asked if anyone already has it at home, Martin chimed in. Smart toilets were discovered with the family while traveling around Japan and South Korea, and when they then renovated the bathroom, they bought a brand-new toilet along with this lid. According to him, you won’t want anything else, but he warned that the lid doesn’t fit every toilet bowl.

Ľuboš has more experience with such boards. The very first version was destroyed by hard water after a year. At home, though, they couldn’t do without it, so he bought a new one and even with that one he deals with limescale in the nozzle. Still, he sees a big hygienic difference in it, and according to him, women get used to it the fastest—especially during menstruation.

What the Smartmi 2S smart toilet lid can do

Its main function is the retractable nozzle, which washes you with warm water after you use the toilet—the water temperature is adjustable in six levels from 35 to 39 °C. The water is heated by an instant flow heater with 780 W power, so the lid doesn’t have a tank that would empty after the first user. Warm water is enough, even when the whole family takes turns in the morning.

You can choose from five wash modes, including a moving stream, gentle feminine washing, a stronger stream for older people and pregnant women, and a gentle mode for children. The seat is heated in six levels up to 39 °C, and after washing it dries you with warm air up to 55 °C in four levels. The remote remembers settings for up to five family members.

How is 2S different from 2 Pro?

Both lids have the same washing, heating, drying, and disinfection. The 2S model additionally features odor removal with active carbon and a catalyst, which cleans the air after using the toilet. The more expensive 2 Pro instead adds a motorized lid with a microwave sensor, so it opens automatically when you arrive and closes when you leave. With a coupon, the 2 Pro costs under 300 €.

The nozzle cleans itself and UV light disinfects it. The seat ring is antibacterial thanks to silver ions, and in the dark it lights up with a dim night light that won’t dazzle. The electronics are protected against splashing water with an IPX4 rating.

Chinese version in practice: plug, remote, and warranty

The 220 V voltage and 50 Hz frequency match our electrical network, and for the 2S model, Gshopper states that they include a European plug with the lid. You need a grounded socket rated for 10 A, at most 1.5 meters away from the toilet.

You control the board with a wireless controller that hangs in a wall holder, so you don’t have to turn to the side panel. The buttons have pictograms, but the labels underneath are in Chinese, so it’s worth checking the main functions once and memorizing them.

Smartmi doesn’t sell this model in Europe and there’s no service available here for it, so any potential claim would be handled with the seller, Gshopper.

Does it fit your bowl? Measure four dimensions

The board measures 519 × 390 × 131 mm and before buying, check whether the shape of your bowl matches the drawing. The distance from the mounting holes to the front edge of the bowl should be 455 to 495 mm, and from the holes to the inner edge of the bowl less than 105 mm. The holes must be spaced 118 to 176 mm apart, and at least 38 mm must remain from the tank to the holes.

At least half a meter to the right from the toilet, while you’re sitting on it, there must be a cold-water valve and the water pressure must be from 0,07 to 0,75 MPa. The manufacturer allows only potable tap water to be connected—no rainwater or other utility water.

Which toilet bowl fits it when you’re renovating your bathroom

In our FB group, Mat'o asked which toilet bowl worked well for others, because he’d been looking for it for several days. Based on the technical drawings, we first found a wall-hung WC Duravit that matched Smartmi’s drawing in size, but Mat'o immediately noticed that the bowl is angular, while the board is rounded. The dimensions alone aren’t enough—you need to also look at the shape of the bowl.

The best match for us is a rounded wall-hung WC TOTO GP CW553Y, or TOTO RP CW552RY. According to TOTO’s drawings, both have a width of 380 mm, mounting holes 155 mm apart, and from the holes to the front edge exactly 470 mm, so they fit within the range Smartmi provides. The distance from the wall to the holes is 70 mm, while the board at the back needs at least 38 mm.

TOTO installs its own electronic bidet toilet seat WASHLET RG Lite on both bowls officially too, so they are structurally prepared for a similar type of board. The RP CW552RY model has Ptáček in its bathroom catalogue for year 2026 at a recommended price 728 € and the GP bowl is offered under the label CW553EY as part of the TOTO Concept 100 set. The drawings don’t state the distance from the holes to the inner edge of the bowl, so check it with the seller before ordering.

Limescale is its biggest enemy

Ľuboš’s experience shows that you also need to take care of the board. In a large part of Slovakia, hard water flows, and limescale first settles in the nozzle, which then weakens or sprays to the side.

The package includes a filter for the water supply, whose insert in hard water should be replaced more often than you’d otherwise expect. If you really have hard water at home, it’s worth adding a softening filter before the valve as well, and pulling out the nozzle from time to time to clean the tip with a soft brush.
