The Xiaomi family grows every year with new products. Vacuum cleaners, sneakers, all kinds of gadgets, tools for DIY enthusiasts. Smartfones are an essential part of this brand—thanks to them, Xioami has surely become the most famous. Always with great prices, sometimes at the expense of various technologies.

Until recently, even NFC (Near Field Communication) was one of the missing technologies. The reason was simple—to keep the final price as low as possible. This was criticized both by Xiaomi and many loyal fans. NFC just can’t be missing in 2020.
Xiaomi listens to its fans
In recent years, this giant has definitely been doing well and experienced one of their better periods. This is also evidenced by their near 10% market share in Europe in Q2. of the year 2019. Xiaomi is aware of its position, so it tries to listen to the wishes of its customers.
It’s no surprise that NFC in a smartphone was requested by more than one fan. In the flagship Mi 8, you could find it, but in cheaper and older models, unfortunately, not anymore. The situation is changing, and more and more devices now support contactless payments.
With NFC and Google Pay, you save yourself a few minutes of time and hassle every day when using cash or a physical payment card. Just add it to your phone and you’re done. When you pay at the nearest terminal that supports NFC, you only need to hold your phone—it's paid.

For payment, you first need to unlock your phone normally. For payments over 20 € or for payments made abroad, you’ll then need to enter a PIN code. We’re really happy to see NFC integrated into budget phones. It’s just one of the many steps that keep Xiaomi fans loving the brand.
