- POCO F9 Pro is here. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series, a special version of Qualcomm’s flagship chip.
- The display has 6.59 inches and 185 Hz, so you get the same refresh rate and brightness as on the more expensive F9 Ultra.
- The main camera has 200 MPx—paired with a 50 MPx telephoto lens and an 8 MPx ultra-wide-angle.
- The battery is 6330 mAh and charges at 100 W with a cable and 50 W wirelessly.
- The Aurora Green version features a luminous back that lights up in the dark after being charged by light.
Alongside the top-end F9 Ultra, POCO also introduced a cheaper F9 Pro. But it’s not just a trimmed-down version—on some points it takes its own path, and it even has one feature that the other model doesn’t. The differences between the two models are smaller than you’d expect.
F9 Pro with our coupon—available in the EU stock now!
The latest POCO F9 Pro is already available from trusted sellers on Gshopper and DHgate, with whom we’ve worked long-term.
The difference is that Gshopper ships from a China warehouse—of course without customs duty—while this is a global version of the phone. The seller includes a 2-year warranty in Europe; returns are handled via Gshopper, and when you order through our link, we’ll help you with it. As a bonus, the box also includes the original 67 W charger. That way, you save another €30 on the charger. In this case, delivery takes 7 to 15 days.
The seller on DHgate offers phones from a European, Spanish warehouse, which means express delivery in up to 5 days—and of course no additional customs duty since it’s already included in the price. It’s also a global version, but we don’t have confirmation about the charger included in the box.
It’s an official global version, with Slovak and Czech language support, complete 4G and 5G network support, Google apps, Google Pay — simply the same version that will be sold on our local markets in Slovakia and in the Czech Republic.
While the official price for Europe was set at €769 (€690 during the promo), with our coupons you can order it even more cheaply.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series: What is it really?
While the F9 Ultra got the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the F9 Pro has it labeled as V Series with code SM8850-1-AB. It uses the same 3nm platform and—importantly—the same clock speeds: two big cores run up to 4.6 GHz, and six performance cores at 3.62 GHz. So the difference isn’t in the performance class, but in the chip’s specific binning. Like the Ultra, the Pro also gets a separate graphics chip called VisionBoost D8, LPDDR5X memory rated at 9600 Mbps, and UFS 4.1 storage.
Gaming features are shared across the whole lineup: WildBoost Engine, AI-powered super-resolution, smooth frame rendering, and Game HDR that can run all at once. The touch layer samples 480 times per second, and in Game Turbo mode it can reach up to 4800 times briefly—plus you get a gaming audio mode called Sound by Bose Game Audio. Cooling is handled by LiquidCool technology.
6,59 inches and the same 185 Hz as on the Ultra
The display is the POCO HyperRGB AMOLED with a 6.59-inch diagonal and a resolution of 2510 × 1156 pixels. And here’s a pleasant surprise — the refresh rate and brightness are exactly the same as on the more expensive F9 Ultra: 185 Hz, up to 10,000 nits at 1% area, 4500 nits at a quarter of the screen, 2200 nits in HBM mode, and a minimum of 1 nit.
The contrast is also identical: 5 000 000 : 1, 12-bit color depth, DCI-P3, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, plus Gorilla Glass 7i. The only difference is the panel itself — the new M11 generation was given only to the F9 Ultra. Eye protection is handled by Xiaomi Vision Care with four TÜV Rheinland certificates.
A back that lights up in the dark
This is a feature the F9 Ultra doesn’t have. The Aurora Green version has a glow-in-the-dark back cover — after you shine it with light, it starts glowing in the dark. POCO states that the effect appears across the entire back cover except for the camera module, and that single-color lights with a wavelength below 390 nm or above 450 nm will only make it glow faintly.
The brightness of the glow and how long it lasts depend on how strongly and how long you shine light on the cover, as well as on the surrounding lighting. POCO also admits that the effect may differ between individual production batches. Besides green, the phone will also come in black and white — those won’t have the glow-in-the-dark back.
200 MPx here too, but the periscope is missing
The main camera is surprisingly the same as on the Ultra — 200 MPx with optical stabilization, a 2μm 16-in-1 Super Pixel technology, and a six-lens optics setup. The differences are in the rest of the lineup: the telephoto lens has 50 MPx, floating optics, 60 mm focal length (so roughly 2.5x zoom), a 1/2.75″ sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and optical stabilization. So you won’t find a 5x periscope zoom like on the Ultra.
The ultra-wide camera is a 8 MPx module with f/2.25 aperture — compared to the 50 MPx on the Ultra, that’s the biggest noticeable downgrade. The front camera is the same 32 MPx with 4K recording. The rear cameras handle 4K at 30 and 60 fps, a log profile, and slow-motion video up to 1920 frames per second. The 8K recording that the Ultra has is missing.
Battery, body, and connectivity
The battery is 6330 mAh, which is significantly less than the 8050 mAh on the flagship model, but for its size it’s still a solid pack. Charging is, in fact, exactly the same as on the Ultra: 100 W wired and, for the first time on the Pro version, also 50 W wireless, 27 W reverse wired, and 22.5 W wireless.
The phone measures 157.49 × 75.25 × 8.79 mm and weighs 206 grams, which is nearly 30 grams less than the Ultra. It has IP68 protection and unlocks with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Audio was tuned by Bose — it’s a symmetrical stereo setup with a pair of 1115F drivers; the separate Ultra subwoofer is missing. You still get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and eSIM, and the system is Xiaomi HyperOS 3. In the box you’ll find an adapter, a cable, and a case.
POCO F9 Pro vs. F8 Pro vs. F7 Pro: is an upgrade worth it?
Since the POCO F series changes every year, the most common question isn’t “what is it like?” but “should I upgrade?”. That’s why we put all three latest generations side by side. All data come from the manufacturer’s official pages.

Do you have F8 Pro? Keep it. The difference is smaller than it seems at first glance. The chipset is the same class with a clock speed only about 7% higher, the battery grew by a laughable 120 mAh, and even the dimensions and weight are worse — the F9 Pro is 0.8 mm thicker and weighs 7 grams more. The real benefits come down to three things: 185 Hz instead of 120 Hz, a noticeably brighter display, and 50W wireless charging, which the F8 Pro doesn’t have at all. So if you’re not buying the phone for the sake of wireless charging or you don’t care about brightness in direct sunlight, you can comfortably skip this year.
Have F7 Pro? Then the swap already makes sense. You skip two chip generations, you get a telephoto lens that the F7 Pro doesn’t have at all, you get wireless charging, sound tuned by Bose, double the typical brightness, and 185 Hz. There’s one thing that might disappoint you, though: the F7 Pro has a sharper display. Its 2K panel with resolution 3200 × 1440 has 526 pixels per inch, while the F9 Pro has 2510 × 1156. In everyday viewing you won’t notice it, but it’s a fact that isn’t mentioned in marketing materials.
And one more detail worth noting in both cases: the F9 Pro no longer records in 8K. The F8 Pro handled it at 30 fps and the F7 Pro at 24 fps, while the new model stops at 4K at 60 fps. Most people will never use 8K, but if you’re one of them, you should know about it in advance.
