A photo of the alleged camera module for the Xiaomi Mi 12 leaked. A huge 192 MPx sensor and 5x optical zoom

At the beginning of this year, the first smartphone from the eleventh series of the Mi line, called Xiaomi Mi 11, saw the light of day. Since the Chinese giant has a habit of releasing flagships with a yearly gap, logically, by the end of this year we should be getting the expected successor.

We’ve already written on our website about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 12 smartphone in previous articles. However, only recently has the first real photo appeared—one that probably shows the rear camera module on the Mi 12 model.

The telephoto lens won’t be missing

Although Xiaomi Mi 11 is undoubtedly an excellent smartphone for the money, many fans of the brand criticized it for the lack of a telephoto lens. The latest information reveals that this drawback could be eliminated with the arrival of the new generation.

In the image above, according to multiple leaks, there is the Xiaomi Mi 12 smartphone—specifically its camera module. It’s speculated that the main sensor will offer a resolution of up to unbelievable 192 MPx, and the 5x telephoto lens won’t be missing either.

Even if this scenario looks fairly realistic, it’s still not certain that this is indeed this particular device. The expected Xiaomi Mi CC11 model also comes into consideration, which on our market is Xiaomi Mi Note 11. So everything is still up in the air.

Also, by the end of this year, the latest flagship chipset from the US-based Qualcomm should be presented — Snapdragon 895. Its debut could therefore happen in the Xiaomi Mi 12 model. Of course, it will come with support for ultra-fast wired and wireless charging.

The front will feature a beautiful display with 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display will be manufactured using LTPO technology, which can dynamically adjust the refresh rate to save battery.

We’ll keep monitoring the whole situation closely and will publish all the latest updates on our tech portal Xiaomi Planet. If you want to find out about everything important first, join our Facebook group and subscribe to interesting articles directly in your email inbox.
