After global versions of the POCO F2 Pro and Redmi Note 9 smartphones were hit by an update bringing a new version of the user interface MIUI 12, we’re now seeing other devices getting updated as well. Specifically, it’s the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, Mi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 8 Pro models.
MIUI 12 is coming to more popular smartphones
A stable version of the awesome MIUI 12 graphics overlay is slowly but surely rolling out to more and more smartphones bearing the logo of the Chinese giant Xiaomi, or rather Redmi. Now it’s the turn of a pair of higher mid-range models, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, along with an even better-equipped variant with the “Pro” suffix.
The update is something under 1 GB. If you have a less restricted data plan, you can download it even without being connected to Wi‑Fi. The new MIUI 12 traditionally brings, for example, new controls for the control center.
For many, it looks pretty much like a practically identical feature from iOS. That said, it’s definitely not a drawback, because Xiaomi borrowed a truly great-looking feature.
Better-equipped models will also get nice, vibrant wallpapers
Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without new animated wallpapers of planet Earth and Mars, along with other backgrounds for the Always‑ON display. We also shared screenshots with our readers on social media. They’re proof that the mentioned smartphones are already getting updates.
It’s also said to include the Redmi Note 8 Pro phone. However, if you’re still waiting for the update, it definitely won’t take very long for MIUI 12 to reach you too. That said, only if the manufacturer has included your model in the list of supported devices.
For installing the update, it’s recommended to have your smartphone charged to at least 50% battery capacity. Information about the update availability will be sent to your notification center automatically. If you have system update installation enabled overnight, you’ll be able to enjoy the new, beautifully refined MIUI 12 the next day.
