Every smartphone enthusiast always tries to push its limits and explore its boundaries. Many of them try flashing different ROMs and even running a system that isn’t meant for it.

That said, later on — still, they managed it for this legend too. Right now, enthusiasts at Xiaomi Mi 6 have succeeded in running Windows 10 x64 ARM.

Full-fledged Windows

After the phone boots, the Windows 10 OS itself starts as well. To begin with, the user is welcomed by a screen for choosing the keyboard input.

It’s worth noting that Windows 10 x64 ARM is not some Lite version at all, but a full-fledged operating system like you’d find on a PC. So it comes with features you’d normally find on a PC and can open .exe files.

At one of its presentations, Qualcomm also introduced Windows 10 using the Snapdragon 820 SoC processor. This processor was even spotted in a laptop running Windows 10.

What’s especially impressive is that the laptop was powered by a mobile processor. The laptop was able to run a game like World of Tanks, launch MS Office 2019, and even play videos in 4K quality.

It was also able to handle all the basic functions corresponding to Intel's basic i3 processor lineup.

This great move proves what real enthusiasts are capable of when it comes to testing devices and tuning them. However, it’s not known how stable the Windows 10 OS in the Xiaomi Mi 6 device is, or how well it works.

Anyway, it’s impressive how even an older device can run an operating system designed for a PC.
