The long-awaited global version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone is coming to the market soon, but according to the latest leaks it will differ from its Chinese variant in one key aspect.
Clear trend for year 2025: Smaller batteries for Europe
According to information posted on February 26 on the social network X (Twitter) by user @Sudhanshu1414, the global model Xiaomi 15 Ultra will get only 5410 mAh battery, which is by 590 mAh less than the Chinese version, featuring 6000 mAh capacity.
We first noticed the shrinking battery capacity compared to the Chinese versions with the new Redmi Note 14 series, where some models also got worse in the rest of the hardware—such as the cameras.
However, shrinking battery capacity isn’t just a Xiaomi thing. For example, the Chinese competitor Honor did the same with its flagship Honor Magic 7 Pro: the Chinese version got up to a 5850 mAh battery, while its global variant has only 5270 mAh. Unfortunately, the same fate will also hit the compact model Xiaomi 15, which will drop from the “Chinese capacity” of 5400 mAh in Europe to 5240 mAh.
Despite this change, Xiaomi hasn’t made compromises in performance, cutting-edge display technology, or the improved camera with Leica branding.
