POCO confirms the first specs of the upcoming gaming smartphone POCO F4 GT

21. April 2022 3 min read 0 comments

We already know that the company POCO at the end of this month will unveil its gaming smartphone, which draws inspiration from Redmi. This time, the manufacturer itself is already revealing some of its specs.

POCO teases with new posters

The POCO F4 GT smartphone will be officially unveiled on April 26 at 14:00 our time. That’s less than a week away, so we’re not surprised that POCO is teasing this smartphone with new posters.

It’s no secret that the POCO F4 GT smartphone will be a global version of Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, which was unveiled only for the Chinese home market.

We still expect POCO to differentiate slightly design-wise from Redmi, so the public perceives it as a completely new smartphone. That’s why we expect the biggest changes in the design of the rear camera module and a slightly modified MIUI 13 overlay.

Refined cooling and the most powerful from Qualcomm

On the social network Twitter, POCO has revealed several teasers for its new gaming smartphone. It showcases new cooling LiquidCool 3.0, which will be more efficient and improve thermal conductivity by up to 350%.

It’s good to see that POCO revamped the cooling system, because the most powerful processor tends to heat up more, which then has a greater impact on performance and the battery.

In addition, we officially learn that POCO will use the current top-tier processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. We didn’t expect anything else, since the smartphone is presented as a gaming phone.

None of the released posters is about the design. POCO is probably saving that for the actual unveiling. We also expect the typical intense yellow color.

This is what we expect

The front will be dominated by a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+. The processor will be paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

On the back, you’ll find a module with three cameras. The main one is the 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, complemented by an ultra-wide-angle sensor and a macro sensor. The smartphone will get a 20 MP front camera. It will be integrated under the screen in a cutout.
