POCO F7 is an upcoming flagship smartphone from Xiaomi's sub-brand, which will arrive on sale soon, thanks to a pair of approved certifications that set the release date for this device.
POCO F7: Two approved certifications and a presentation date
Already at the beginning of this month, a new smartphone appeared in the IMEI database under the POCO brand. It carries the code name 2412DPC0AG and is being discussed as the upcoming successor to the F series, POCO F7.
At first, we were slightly skeptical about this information, considering that the current POCO F6 series was released only three months ago, in May 2024. So we expected that the successor with the POCO F7 name would be unveiled in the middle of next year, meaning in the second quarter 2025.
But as it seems, POCO is speeding up the release cycle of its F series. After being listed in the IMEI database, the POCO F7 device also received EHS certification, using the same code name.
Even though this certification only refers to a single device and does not provide specs about the device’s hardware or software features, it increases the likelihood that the new POCO F7 will be launched a bit earlier than expected.
When looking at the previous POCO F6 series, this device received the EHS certification only in January of this year. The official unveiling happened four months later. If this strategy continues with the seventh generation as well, we could welcome the new device on our market around December.
We can also back up this claim with the code designation, which includes “2412”—meaning 24 – for the year, and 12 – for the release month. However, we must emphasize that none of this information has been confirmed by the manufacturer itself, so these are just speculations.
Renamed Redmi Turbo 4 and Redmi K80
There are also theories online that POCO F7 will be just a rebranded Chinese model Redmi Turbo 4, for the global market. And the more powerful version POCO F7 Pro will then become the global model of the Chinese Redmi K80.

And that’s why Redmi K80 will be the new flagship model launched in China as early as November. So a December release of POCO F7 would also make sense chronologically. Xiaomi usually takes some time to move its devices from China to the global market. And a few weeks on the pre-Christmas market could theoretically be enough.
