POCO X7 is once again one step closer to its global debut. It will be a rebranded version of the Chinese Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G smartphone, offering very interesting specs for a great price.

The as-yet-unannounced smartphone has now shown up in GeekBench, so we can already take a look at its performance.

POCO X7 will get a modern mid-range chipset

The device will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, built using a modern 4 nm manufacturing process. This processor belongs to a new mid-range tier from the popular manufacturer, which is reflected in the performance figures as well.

These were the results: 1029 points for single-core performance and 2901 points in the multi-core test. From the screenshot below, you can see that the tested version was the better-equipped variant with 12 GB RAM.

These numbers don’t come anywhere near today’s best smartphones, but on the other hand, performance definitely won’t be a problem here. And not even close. POCO X7 will handle everyday use, multitasking, and even more demanding games without any trouble. Besides solid performance, you can also look forward to other interesting specs.

The highlight of the front will be a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels. A 120 Hz refresh rate will be included to ensure a smooth, great-looking image everywhere. The display supports 1.68 billion colors, includes HDR10+, and reaches a peak brightness of 3000 nits. That means you won’t have readability issues even in direct sunlight.

IP69, stereo speakers, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2

Reliable protection will be provided by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while 1920 Hz PWM dimming will keep your eyes comfortable “all the time.” The fingerprint sensor will be built directly into the display, which is standard today. What isn’t standard, though, is the presence of an infrared port, which you can use to control your home electronics.

Great audio will be delivered by stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and the cherry on top is enhanced water and dust resistance with an IP69 certification.

The camera won’t disappoint, but it also won’t impress. For the given price range, it’s definitely enough. The main sensor will provide 50MP resolution with optical image stabilization, complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a somewhat unnecessary 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera up front will offer 20MP resolution.

You’ll definitely like the large 5500 mAh battery, which combined with the power-efficient chipset should provide very good battery life per charge. You’ll also get fast wired charging up to 45 W—which isn’t a lot compared to Xiaomi, but it’s still above average.

POCO X7: Price and availability

As is typical for smartphones from this brand, we again expect a rather aggressive price tag. It should be sold at a price starting just under €200 for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant. The model with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage will cost around €260 in China.

With the highest likely chance it will also reach the global market, but in this case its price will definitely be higher since you’ll need to add customs duty, VAT (DPH), and import fees. As soon as the POCO X7 appears at one of our partners, you’ll be able to know about it first—and grab it at a great price.
