The POCO brand has officially confirmed the presentation date for the new generation of X series smartphones. The POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max models will be unveiled during a global online event taking place on 17 March 2026 at 20:00 (GMT+8).
The new generation promises a significant leap in performance, battery life, and displays—and according to everything, it will be one of the most interesting price-to-performance picks again in the mid-to-upper segment.
POCO also teases the slogan „Speed to the max“, hinting at a strong focus on performance and speed. Alongside the standard models, a special limited edition in collaboration with Marvel is also expected—specifically the design Iron Man Edition, which has already leaked in the first renders. This edition is meant to appeal not only to tech enthusiasts, but also to pop-culture fans.
Official unveiling on 17. March
POCO confirmed the launch event itself via its official social channels. The presentation will be online and you’ll be able to watch it on the manufacturer’s official channels. The presentation covers global markets, including those in Europe.
We also already have confirmation from our Chinese partners that for the new products, discount coupons will be offered shortly after the launch, so make sure you keep an eye on our website—our coupons for POCO smartphones always help you save a lot of money. The smartphones will be available from EU warehouses with express delivery!
For years, the POCO X series has been known for delivering powerful hardware at a much lower price than the competition. That’s why it’s among the most popular smartphones in the affordable segment. The new generation should confirm this trend while adding even more powerful chips, better displays, and extremely large batteries.
POCO X8 Pro series: powerful chips and fast memory
According to the information so far, the POCO X8 Pro model will get a new processor, the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, which should deliver a significantly higher performance—especially in games and demanding apps. The more powerful POCO X8 Pro Max model is expected to go even further and will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, one of the top performance solutions from this brand.
Manufacturers will also use the latest memory. The Pro Max version should get fast storage UFS 4.1, while the base Pro model will rely on UFS 4.0. RAM will start at 8 GB for the Pro model, while Pro Max starts at a minimum of 12 GB RAM and can reach up to 16 GB.
1.5K OLED displays with 144 Hz refresh rate
Big emphasis is also placed on the display technology. The POCO X8 Pro is expected to feature a 6.59-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. The larger Pro Max model will offer an even bigger display with a 6.83-inch diagonal, making it one of the largest panels in this price category.
Both displays will support variable refresh rates up to 144 Hz. That means extremely smooth animations, fast responses in games, and an overall more pleasant user experience when scrolling through social media or watching video.
50 MP Sony camera and optical stabilization
In terms of photography, both models rely on the same main sensor. It’s a 50 MP Sony IMX882 that will include optical image stabilization (OIS) for sharper photos and more stable video. This sensor is among the proven solutions in the mid-range.
The difference between the models will mainly be in the design of the camera module. The Pro Max version is expected to feature a more prominent module with a dual-LED flash, while the standard Pro model will keep a more traditional layout.
An extreme battery up to 8550 mAh
One of the most interesting features of the new series is the battery capacity. POCO X8 Pro will offer a very solid 6500 mAh, which by itself ranks among the highest values in this category.
The POCO X8 Pro Max model, however, raises the bar even further and is said to come with a massive battery with a capacity of up to 8550 mAh. That’s still quite rare for smartphones and should easily ensure up to two days of intensive use.
Both models will support 100 W fast charging, so even with the large battery capacity, they should be able to charge in a relatively short time. Of course, there will also be the latest operating system Android 16 along with the custom skin HyperOS 3.
Leaked European prices
Not long ago, information about European pricing also surfaced. According to leaked product pages, the base POCO X8 Pro version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage should start at around €399.
The more powerful POCO X8 Pro Max model with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage should cost no more than about €579. Sure, that’s a price increase—something we’re used to with the POCO X series—but we believe that with our coupons, the prices will be much more attractive.
