Redmi 9A will be the cheapest smartphone from the manufacturer in the Redmi 9 series. We know its initial specs

Redmi is known mainly for affordable smartphones that offer truly decent specs for the money. According to new leaks, their lineup will be joined by the cheapest model: the Redmi 9A.

The Redmi 9A device will deliver performance from the lower mid-range class, aimed at undemanding users. Even if the hardware may not impress at first glance, its price tag will please more than one fan of the Chinese giant.

The FCC certification reveals the parameters

Most of the available information comes from the certification of the Redmi 9A smartphone by the US company FCC (Federal Communications Commission). It lets us uncover some key specifications.

Thanks to leaks of a smartphone marked M2006C3LG, we know that the newest version of the MIUI custom UI will run on the new device— MIUI 12 together with Android 10. Support for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi won’t be missing either, while 5 GHz will understandably be absent given the price.

From the FCC certification, we also know that Redmi 9A will be powered by a 4 990 mAh battery, which combined with undemanding hardware will provide very good battery life. Charging will support a maximum output of 10 W.

Even more hardware didn’t stay shrouded in secrecy. Under the hood of the Redmi 9A smartphone will be a lower mid-range Mediatek Helio A25 processor, supported by 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

The storage can also be expanded with a memory card. The front of the smartphone will be handled by a display with a resolution of HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels)—not the sharpest, but fully sufficient for undemanding users.

The selfie camera will have a resolution of 5 MPx, which is rather below average by today’s standards. The rear sensor will be a 13 MPx unit, which could deliver decent results for its price. Other parameters are not known yet.

As for the price of the new Redmi 9A, we expect it to land on the European market under 100 €. Since no further information has been revealed, we can only speculate for now about the price and the remaining specs.

We’ll continue to diligently follow the entire development of the new Redmi 9A. If you don’t want to miss any other updates, regularly check our website and sign up for news directly in your email inbox.
