New technologies keep progressing and 5G networks are being introduced everywhere. As it seems, this network is being deployed in China much faster than in Europe. Xiaomi wants to stick to progress and in China, for now it won’t roll out the Redmi Note 0 Pro series. It also ends with smartphones without 5G above 2000 yuan (256 €) on the domestic market.
So far no Redmi Note 9 Pro, a boom for Redmi K30
Lu Weibing, CEO of Redmi, said in a post on the social network Weibo that the new Redmi Note 9 Pro series will be focused only on foreign markets. He added that the Chinese market will be targeted with products with 5G support.
He also added the hashtag #Redmi K30 Pro pretty soon. From this, we can infer the company will focus mainly on the Redmi K30 series with 5G support. We can also expect a new series of smartphones from Redmi.
That’s why it’s clear why the launch of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max smartphones this year took place in India. In India, 5G technology is hardly widespread at all, and that’s also why Redmi Note phones are very popular there. We expect the Redmi Note series to continue in Europe as well, where it’s also doing great.
Xiaomi CC9 Pro ends in China
The company will remove from sale all mid-range and upper mid-range smartphones that cost more than 2000 yuan, which is 256 euros / 6800 kč, and don’t have 5G connectivity. This applies to Xiaomi CC9 Pro as well, known in Europe as Mi Note 10.
According to the CEO, it’s a smartphone with little future, because it doesn’t have the latest telecom technologies.
Lu Weibing commented on this: „CC9 Pro will be pulled immediately. All 4G products above 2000 yuan will be pulled from sale. 5G has arrived and nobody can stop it…“ He announced it on March 14 / March března 2020 in his Weibo post.
