Xiaomi officially unveiled the new generation of its powerful smartphones, Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max.

The news brings the latest Snapdragon chipset, extremely high display refresh rates, large silicon-carbon batteries and, in the case of the Pro Max model, also noticeably more advanced photo features.

Redmi K100 Pro: extreme performance in a more compact body

Redmi K100 Pro is the base model of the new series, but it’s definitely not a compromise smartphone. The lineup includes a special version of the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series marked SM8850-1-AB. The chip is manufactured using a 3 nm process technology, and the main core reaches a frequency of up to 4.6 GHz.

Performance is supported by a dedicated AI gaming chip D2, which helps with hardware image rendering, improves graphics quality, and generates additional frames. Redmi also introduced an advanced power-management system that coordinates the CPU, GPU, and system memory.

A big draw is the 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2510 × 1156 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz. The panel uses a full RGB subpixel layout and, according to the manufacturer, delivers sharpness comparable to 2K displays. DC dimming is included, along with a minimum brightness of 1 nit and eye-comfort-focused technologies.

For gamers, it offers up to a 4800 Hz instant touch sampling rate and a 480 Hz multi-touch sampling rate. Redmi also states support for 185 FPS in dozens of optimized games.

The battery is another major advantage. The K100 Pro comes with an 8580 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports charging up to 100 W by cable and 50 W wirelessly. There’s also 27 W reverse wired charging.

At the back, you’ll find a 200 MP Samsung HP5 main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, an f/1.68 aperture, and optical stabilization. It’s joined by a 50 MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom and an 8 MP ultrawide camera.

Sound is handled by a pair of Sound by Bose speakers. The phone also has IP68 and IP69 resistance, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, a X-axis linear motor, and NFC.

So the Redmi K100 Pro delivers a very strong combination of performance, display, and battery life without having to belong among the biggest smartphones on the market.

Redmi K100 Pro Max: Even bigger display, battery, and cameras

If the K100 Pro is a powerful smartphone, Redmi K100 Pro Max is basically a showcase of what Xiaomi can fit into this series without major compromises.

The biggest difference is the display itself. Pro Max offers a massive 6.9-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2608 × 1200 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz. Just like the smaller model, it uses a full RGB subpixel layout and technologies designed to reduce eye fatigue.

Performance is powered by a full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with the Oryon architecture and a maximum frequency of 4.6 GHz. There’s also a dedicated AI graphics chip D2 and massive 6300 mm² 3D cooling.

The biggest trump card, however, is the battery. K100 Pro Max gets a huge 9070 mAh battery, which Xiaomi says is the largest battery used in its smartphone at the time of launch. Charging reaches 100 W by cable and 50 W wirelessly.

The photo setup is also significantly better. The main 200 MP Samsung HP5 is complemented by a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens JN5 with 5× optical zoom and 10× lossless zoom. The third camera is a 50 MP ultrawide sensor OV50M.

In Pro Max, it can handle 8K video at 30 FPS according to official specifications. The manufacturer also put a lot of work into the audio. The phone offers a 2.1-channel system Sound by Bose with a pair of 1115D speakers and a separate 1620 bass driver.

Redmi K100 Pro (Max)

The specs also include USB 3.2 Gen 1, up to 16 GB of RAM, and a maximum 1 TB of storage. Of course, there’s IP68/IP69, NFC, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and an X-axis vibration motor.

Redmi K100 Pro Max is therefore clearly the best-equipped model in the entire series, targeting users who want maximum performance, battery life, and photography capabilities.

Price of Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max

In China, the Redmi K100 Pro starts at 3699 yuan, which is approximately €474.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max model starts at 4199 yuan, i.e. approximately €540. The top Pro Max version with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage costs 5999 yuan, which is about €770.

Redmi K100 Pro (Max)

Of course, this is only an approximate conversion of Chinese prices to euros. Any European price will most likely be higher due to VAT, distribution, and other costs. Another interesting possibility is the potential release of the new devices under the POCO brand, similar to what happened with the previous generation.
